Losing Feliz for awhile is a big loss. Still having Trouble with walking too many batter but there is no denying his stuff. Has the Talent to be a Very Good Starter in the Show. Hope Feliz will be back by July.

He's had a couple good starts early. He's shown his lack of experience lately.

last 3 starts

4.2IP 3H 1ER 5BB
6.0IP 4H 2ER 2BB
6.0IP 4H 1ER 2BB

if that's inexperience, I'll take it. The only thing that has hurt him is walks. Other than that he's been great.

Yes, but IMO he's not a big league starter right now and needs to be in the minors.

Feliz has still pitched better than Harrison and Holland lately. He is in experienced but the Rangers were going to go with Him the whole year. Then this Inflammation of the elbow happened. This is the same injury Feliz had last year even while He was our closer. Feel that Feliz would have progressed as the season went along. If the Rangers didn't feel Feliz could be a Starter in the show, they wouldn't have made that committment this year.

Sure he would've progressed. That was until we lost him for 6 weeks. Earlier I was opposed to signing Oswalt. Now I feel it's the right move. Even when Feliz comes back you think he'd pick right back up where he left off in his development when he comes back? I don't think so.

Feliz will get Rehab starts in the Minors so I feel by the time He gets back up here He will ready. That is unless its worse than everybody thinks it is. Don't have a crystal ball. Can't predict the future. Don't want that to happen. Right now Feliz will be back in the Rotation by July till proven otherwise.

Feliz has had his up and downs and I can't imagine the FO could've expected anything more, this sounds a lot like when he hit the DL last year early in the season

No reason to go with Oswalt, this is why you have Feldman to cover his starts until he comes back,

Oswalt is just wasted money at this point

That's 6 weeks away. That's a long time to have scooter in the rotation. Sign Oswalt. Hell be ready in 3 weeks.

Don't dispute that, but what happens when Feliz comes back?

Just stick with the young guys and use your bullpen the way you set it up at the outset of the season

You're assuming everyone is going to remain healthy.

If everyone is healthy and Oswalt plays well...

1) 6 man rotation
2) Keep him in a 5 man rotation and send whoever is sucking to the pen(most likely Harrison at the point, gives us another lefty too)
3) Send Oswalt to the pen and have another quality reliever

Point is, there are options.

I'd love to see a 6 man rotation. Considering that is what we are essentially going with right now to give an extra day or two of rest to the younger guys, I'd say go with it. I'd offer Oswalt 1 year at $7M and a team option for the second at $12M. That would get him on board, we don't have to pick up the option but have it if we want, and then could always trade him if we don't need the arm.
