Check the stats of all the players that were in the Homerun Derby they are all "struggling"

He's just getting away from what made him great in the first half, he needs to take a pitch or two and not press so much.

Yeah i would have to agree there. Im kind of curious if there is more than a small blister on his hand.

Well, "struggling" is relative. Here are the stats for the other 7 players since the All-Star Game:

Alvarez: 0.194 / 0.265 / 0.387 / 0.652 (31 AB)
Cano: 0.267 / 0.324 / 0.333 / 0.657 (30 AB)
Cespedes: 0.133 / 0.278 / 0.200 / 0.478 (15 AB)
Cuddyer: 0.346 / 0.469 / 0.462 / 0.931 (26 AB)
Fielder: 0.233 / 0.303 / 0.333 / 0.636 (30 AB)
Harper: 0.333 / 0.389 / 0.576 / 0.965 (33 AB)
Wright: 0.297 / 0.333 / 0.514 / 0.847 (37 AB)

why didn't they keep everything and fire the manager ? they cleaned house and got rid of a lot contracts
They did fire the manager the manager, and hire John Farrell, the pitching coach
under Terry Francona and manager of the Toronto Blue Jays for 2-3 seasons since then.

What Farrell's problems in Toronto were I don't know.

Of the players now on the Sox roster who weren't there last year, Shane Victorino
is playing very well in RF, covering ground in a spacious, tough sun field and making
good throws once he catches the ball. Mike Napoli has been inconsistent but providing
good depth at a position no one can be expected to play everyday.

Reserve the right to withhold comment on other Sox newcomers at least for now. The game might
actually be getting underway, and it's got priority over saying any more at the moment.

believe there is a total of 6 homeruns among those since the break. I think the screwed their swings a little

This didn't post for who know what reason a few minutes ago, so I'll try again.

My Sox DID fire Bobby Valentines, and replace him with John Farrell, the pitching coach
under Terry Francona.

Farrell was under contract to Toronto last off-season, and there is reason to believe
Valentine was never meant to be more than a fill-in until Farrell became available.

Free agent signee Shane Victorino has been playing well defensively, covering the ground in Fenway's spacious
RF, which is the sun field in day games. Making good throws after he catches the ball too. Not as good as the LEGENDARY Dwight Evans, who was only the best RF the Sox have had in my 39 years of living in Boston.

Mike Napoli has been a bit less consistent but is providing good depth at C, a position NO ONE can be expected to play every day.

I may or may not comment on other Sox newcomers. Watching the game will take priority over posting about it.

Buck needs to drop Davis in the batting order. He is nothing more that a liability in the 5 spot. He can't even make contact with the ball. Just not seeing it.

The O's just did not show up today. They are just getting taken to the woodshed. Complete reversal of yesterday's game.

The worst part about this game is that dempster is awful, the sox are not that good to begin with, and the O's offense just hasn't shown up.

I think the O's have a great chance to beat the snot out of Lester: they've beaten him before this year, he has a four ERA, and it's unlikely that the O's will drop a series to a bunch of overachieving chumps like the red sux.
