we need davis to actually go a game without a strike out...15 strike outs in his 32 at-bats since the HR derby...and has at least a strikeout in every single game...as a matter of fact the last game in which he doesnt have a strikeout is July 2nd...I dont care how many HR's hes hit...THATS UNACCEPTABLE...maybe buck needs to give him a day off

Might not be a bad idea. To be honest, what Davis has done this season far, far exceeds my expectations. People will have slumps. More importantly to me, Wieters, Jones and Machado have shown they can step up. We've probably left more than a few RISP stranded, but you'll have that. That's one of those stats that isn't always indicative of how well a team is hitting to me. Sure, it's not always great to live on the long ball.. even if AJ has recently said that they've won basically the way the O's usually win.

I almost expected Davis to go through a period like this. He's in Mark Reynolds territory as far as SOs go, but he'll be fine. Blessed Be, Chris. Don't press. Just be you and do what you've done in the past. Don't worry about what they're saying in the press.. this was to be expected given what you did the first half of the season.

esp if u take away game 1 against the royals...urrutia has the same amount of RBI, more hits and less strikeouts than davis...and its not like they were playing against a top pitching staff...

My Red Sox are due to break out of the offensive slump they've been in recently. Pedroia especially.

You got lucky last night catching Lackey on one of his off nights. And you don't have Mark Price going either.

Hopefully there won't be any injuries for either team tonight, but that's all the good luck I'll wish yo
when you're playing my team and not the "Sinstripes" or the "Debts."

GO RED SOX!

Maybe buck needs to give [Davis] a day off

Davis since the All-Star Game: 0.219 / 0.257 / 0.313 / 0.570

Small sample size, but that's definitely a slump. Who would you start at 1B if Davis takes a day off, though? (Remember, Valencia was sent back down, and Pearce isn't back yet. Flaherty is theoretically an option, but having him play first feels like a waste of his defensive skills. I guess Urrutia could play first for a day since he's a DH/LF type?)

But that would create a new hole at RF... I guess you're thinking about Markakis at 1B and Urrutia at RF? (That's definitely doable-- it might be a slight downgrade in defense, though.)

You're entitled to disagree with me, and being loyal to your team is not something I'll hold against you.

But don't think last season was at all indicative of what my team is actually capable of. The MANAGER
was the problem, not the players.

Whatever you may think of your Orioles current manager, rest assured he's a major improvement on Bobby Valentine.

Check the stats of all the players that were in the Homerun Derby they are all "struggling"
