Worked as a equipment support tech at a semiconductor inc. for 5+ years. I may be able to help.Anyone know anything about computers? My work computer is acting up. The mouse went out on it, so I rebooted it and it was still not working. Plugged in a different mouse that worked at another computer and it still doesn't work. Tried plugging both mice into a different port and neither works. The original mouse is not working on any other computer, but no working mouse is working on mine. Any suggestions?
Is your mouse usb or PS/2? I'm assuming PS/2? If your PS/2 ports aren't working they are most likely damaged or they failed. Or if you are using a split adapter to connect both Mouse & Keyboard then that could have failed as well. Its sort of a common occurrence with older PCs for these to fail. If you have available USB ports I would try a USB mouse. They are much more reliable.
Also gotta ask. Have you had any motherboard BIOS issues lately? I've seen people disable devices on their mb on accident before. Also try updating the firmware on your BIOS. Which should probably be done, regardless. If your PC is older than 10 years then you should definitely look into this.
