So like every year under Gus?
Joey Gatewood, sounds like a made up name you use to pick up sideass.
Auburn DL will be a terror
I believe that our front seven will be as good as anyone in the country. This is what gives me cautious, very cautious hope that we can win some games as our O-line gels and the RBs are sorted out. I love CGM but his weakness seems to be that it takes three or four games to figure out what the offense's strengths are.
18 early predictions for 2018 college football season
1. Auburn-Washington a Playoff elimination game
The loser will likely be out of the College Football Playoff race on Sept. 1. Sure, Washington could still win its conference, but it'll be judged more by the Auburn game than its Pac-12 schedule. Auburn travels to Georgia and Alabama in November.
The largest offshore sports book, 5Dimes.com has set CFB week 1 lines.
Auburn has opened up as a 4 point favorite........I am leaning Washington +4 in this game.
Auburn has lost 4 of their 5 starting offensive lineman plus their stud RB Kerryon Johnson.
Both teams are expected to have light out defense again this season.....I see a very close low scoring game here.
History shows Auburn is college football’s most unpredictable team
First line of the article really pisses me off:
Auburn football’s reputation is that of a randomized results generator, an especially spastic one, designed by deranged hornets and housed in an abandoned fireworks stand.
There is too much truth in that statement and that just makes madder than a blind man at a silent film festival.

Way Too Early Prediction: Washington versus Auburn
Luke Mounger and Kim Grinolds probably has the score right but Kim has the best analysis. I feel really good about our D this year but expect another slow start on the other side of the ball. IF our O-line gels early then we will be dangerous all season. Peterson always has the best coached team on the field.
Auburn is loaded up the kazoo with big time recruits. You guys just plug & play.
Talent has not been the issue. You can go back even to Cam Newton days and it took until the LSU game for us to find our strengths and get the right calls. This may change IF CGM lets the OC do his job but normally it has taken 3-4 games to get in sync.
UW started off slowly last year as well and really struggled with stability in the running game for the first month.
Auburn should have the size advantage in the trenches and that's always hard to overcome, particularly away from your home crowd.
Both teams have solid veteran players up and down the lineup.
UW had serious problems in their kicking game last year that they must overcome to even be competitive in defensive battle type games.
Petersen does have the experience and obsessive attention to detail to prepare for big time games where he has weeks/months to set them up and that is a major x-factor, but both teams have questions that won't be answered until that game is over.
It really could go either way, but as long as neither team comes out of it with any serious injury either can recover from a loss if it isn't a blow out and I really wouldn't expect one.
I haven't looked at your O-line for returning starters or individual matchups, yet. I do believe that our front seven will finish the year as a better unit than last season's and that should give us a chance to win. I hope both teams come into the game without injuries and leave that same way after a snot knocking game.
I am really not knocking our coach, I love having CGM. Like all coaches he has some weaknesses and slow starting is one. I actually think that is due to him being head coach during the week and play caller on Saturday. I hope he lets that go.
I will probably start some friendly smack talk right before fall camp starts but the closer we get to game day the quieter I will get. I am really glad we got a great match up for our first game.
