Celtics GM Danny Ainge said Kyrie Irving underwent minor nasal surgery for a deviated septum.

This explains why he wasn't at Game 7. This is similar to the operation that Andre Drummond had before the season and it's one of the reasons why the big man had a bounce-back year. As for his recovery from knee surgery, Irving has been walking without crutches for over a month, but it's not clear when he will get the green light for full basketball activities.

Probably.

Measuring Smart's value by looking at FG % is kind of like measuring Shaq by looking at his FT%.

Smart is a truly elite defender and worth just as much as an elite offensive player who plays crap defense.

Irving is too fragile to be counted on as a cornerstone player. Hurt at Duke, hurt in Cleveland and now hurt in Boston.
