I think Wentz is the real deal. Yes, throw to Smith was a little high, but catchable, and I love that he was aggressive there and went back shoulder.

Too bad that we don't have receivers that can fight for the ball and win the battles.

The D looks legit. The lack of run threat is handicapping the offense, but I don't think calling more running plays would fix it. We'll have no running game this year and will be reliant on Wentz generating all the offense. He's capable of doing it.

There were other options besides playing an injured kicker. Guys like Nick Novak were on the street. He would not miss a 30-yard chippie.

tough call on kickers. it's week 2 and your team's overall ability is unknown. so with that said, i'd probably go for a young kicker as well. you already know what the vets are capable of.. and there's a reason they are out of work.

now if the eagles were division favorites or battling for a playoff spot, then i'd lean towards a vet.
