DYNASTY TRADE ADVICE

So... I'm in a large 10 team 63 man roster league with a salary cap etc. I mean, we have offensive lineman and punters, everything. But right now I'm concerned with the offensive side of the ball. Scoring is 6 points TD, 1pt/50yds QB and 1pt/20yds RB/WR/TE and it's PPR.

My current offensive skill positions:

QB - Matthew Stafford / Sam Bradford / Andy Dalton
RB - Adrian Peterson / Justin Forsett / Duke Johnson / Giovani Bernard / Charles Sims / Matt Jones / Jay Ajayi / Mike Davis / Jeremy Langford
WR - Odell Beckham / Randall Cobb / DeAndre Hopkins / Charles Johnson / Devante Parker / Steve Johnson / Markus Wheaton / Justin Hunter
TE - Jason Witten / Coby Fleener / Eric Ebron
OL - I'll spare you my offensive lineman haha.

I've been offered Aaron Rodgers and Kevin White for Adrian Peterson and Randall Cobb

Keep in mind: This is dynasty and... the team is good enough that I don't want to completely sacrifice the present for the future.

Would you do that deal?

As far as skill players go we start:

1 - QB
1 - RB
2 - WR
1 - TE
1 - RB/WR/TE

It would give me Arod and I would have to switch out Cobb for Hopkins in my starting lineup.

I dunno, now I'm going back and forth. Rodgers is so tempting. Too bad you can't swing something where you get to keep Cobb...

Upgrading Stafford to Aaron Rodgers is sooooo tempting.

And the long term value of Rodgers and White versus Peterson who is a 30 year old running back in dynasty...

With your RBs this season it is unwise to get rid of Peterson... So I am against the trade...

You're right. The only thing that scares me is your RBs behind AP.

I say no way.

Ridgers is nice snd all, but you have enough at QB now. Losing AP will hurt you big time, IMO. Plus, I think Cobb is excellent. Top five WR. Young. So in a way, you still get some Rodgers production.

What gives me pause is expectations for Peterson after this year.

But yeah. Running back is probably my weakest point. Hard to trade from the empty glass.

That would allow me to replace Peterson with Randle (there is potential there at least).

If I pulled both trades off it would look like:

Aaron Rodgers, Joseph Randle, Kevin White, 2016 3rd Round Rookie Pick

Because of the scoring and being able to spare Cobb, I do the trade easily. Yards are half as valuable as usual at all positions, so TDs have more value. Rodgers should get you about 10 TDs more per year. And he'll probably still be playing in three years.

If it were the other way around, I'd say you were throwing away your future for an older AP who wasn't that great in 2013.

...and with that second offer it's a shoo in.

I'd even prefer giving up ODB and maybe gaining a pick....

AP who wasn't that great in 2013.

Why, I do believe that this is the first time anyone has brought this up.

It's a good point too and part of my concern. I have AP under contract for the next 3 years at 20.5M per year. We use the NFL salary cap at 143.5M so it would be the same as AP getting 20.5M for the next three years in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers is signed reasonably for the next 7 years. Cobb has a 7/70M deal so he's expensive too.
