Saw this trade, huge win in the trade for the Nets. Howard may be a bit of a personality but he's still a good player.
He definitely lost something...HOF? Hard to say...I don't think he ever had a good face the basket game, or mid range shot, but he was so dominant in the paint he didn't need much of one.
Even with his current game, I thought he was wasted here in ATL. (one reason you saw a revival in Charlotte) You give me a big like him and I'm feeding him until he proves that I shouldn't.
Dwight will play for his 6th franchise this season, but that is just half of the leaders Joe Smith, Chucky Brown, Tony Massenburg and Jim Jackson.
Now a trivia question, all four of those guys have one team in common, who is that team that all four played for?
Whoops I included Dwight in that. Spurs?
Well with that paragraph I was mostly thinking of The Process and Sixers which I know tlance likes and I do as well. But that was different imo because the Sixers had been good, realized they needed a change, and stripped everything down. But teams like the Magic and Kings have been bad what seems like forever. There's nothing to strip down. And because you've sucked for so long, fans and potential players just don't care about you. That's why there's value in getting to respectability for a couple of years instead of staying in the lottery for 10 years hoping something finally comes your way, which is what the Nets will be doing if they continue to stink. That run Philly had before The Process sowed enough goodwill among the fan base that let Hinkie sell "The Process". If they had stunk for 8 years prior, fans would have never bought into it and the team would have lost a lot of revenue from lack of ticket and merch sales as fans say "fuck this"
BREAKING: Hornets Shock The NBA With Dwight Howard Trade A Day Before NBA Draft
Nets get Howard's expiring contract while the Hornets get Mozgov and a couple of 2nd rounders.
I don't get why the Hornets do this trade.
Yeah, not including Dwight. Those four all played for the Warriors at some point.Whoops I included Dwight in that. Spurs?
But, why have they sucked for so long?
They haven't been tanking. They have just made horrendously bad draft picks (Kings) and terrible trades giving away assets (Nets).
I said this earlier, but these teams shouldn't let their past rule their future. The Sixers were brilliant because their first few picks didn't hit and they waited patiently until they got a couple that did. You won't always land a Ben Simmons type player going that route, but trying and missing is better than building around 30 year old fringe allstars like Kemba Walker if you are the unlucky team to win the bidding war for him.
Past mistakes are sunk costs. No matter what moves you make, you can't change those failures. Trying to marginally improve a 30 win roster only gets you an express ticket to NBA purgatory.
Right now, the Nets finally have a chance to bottom out and really rebuild. They don't appear interested in doing that.

What act does Howard do? Is it because he’s always smiling and having a good time? That just seems like his genuine personality.
Honestly he seems like a really nice person.
Okay then. You hate Dwight Howard.Yep. Really nice people have 10 kids with 10 different women.
Totally normal, right?

I know very little about most celebrities personal lives. I read People magazine like once a year at the dentist.
