In the bit of this game that I saw, Duke's defense was horrid. It had improved a ton this year with Okafor and Tyus Jones, but today they looked like last year's team (which was outside the top 100 in defense). Yes, Lacey was hot, but if you give a team enough open shots, and you miss your own open shots, you are going to lose.

Duke will rarely get outshot like they did today, but championship teams cannot hope they win six games by always outshooting their opponents. A big chink in the armor for sure.

I thought the Duke D was downright decent but NC State was consistently hitting the 3, taking good shots, running the clock well and playing solid D themselves. That second half was a joy to watch. Lots of strategy and it was great to see the seconds ticking away and Duke just couldn't put a real run together.

I don't see how anyone couldn't love college basketball.

NC State played their hearts out. Duke seemed to just be going through the motions which is so not a Coach K team.. However, we can not take anything away from NC State... They played great!
