Huh? They had plenty of cap space even more if Tanny didn't get hurt as they had to sign Cutler. Even still they had money for him and that was an emergency.

You could argue both sides but it's rare to pick up a top player in his prime in FA. You always overpay in FA but they had to kickstart that D. To say that they killed their chances is ridiculous as they made the playoffs and look to be getting better every year.

What are you saying? Suh took you from last in defense to 24th????? That is not historically correct.
Dolphins were top ten defense before adding Suh!!!!

If you knew anything about football you could see that the Fins QB and oline play have killed them. It's not because of cap space. The D's been out there way too much. Tanny at least had no mobility which masked the poor oline when he went down so did the odds of them doing anything.

Managing the cap is always difficult for teams winning the Superbowl. .
Some teams have trouble with the cap when they are perpetually rebuilding.....

Ha, I was just about to go there. Not sure why people can't comprehend that BB got everything he could for Jimmy G. JG was insurance for this year in case Brady's old ass faltered. When he didn't BB waited to see if a QB hungry team came calling. If they did BB didn't like thd deal. At the final hour he got what will likely be the #1 or #2 pick of the 2nd round. Brissett was traded because NE needed a WR due to injuries. Unfortunately Dorsett hasn't produced yet. But NE has the luxury that maybe he'll turn out for the playoff run?
