Dolphins Trading the #3 Overall to the San Francisco 49ers

  NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Eagles were interested to trading up to No. 3 overall, but only for BYU QB Zach Wilson.​

  In other words, the Jets are locked in at Wilson at No. 2. Rather comically, Rapoport has since been forced to walk this back, presumably after he was told he let a little too much information slip. We are going to assume the original report was accurate. After their designs on No. 3 were thwarted, the Eagles instead moved down to No. 12, getting a 2022 first-rounder from the Dolphins for the price of sliding only six spots. With Wilson seemingly the guy at No. 2, it would seem North Dakota State QB Trey Lance is the 49ers' most likely target at No. 3.

From what you read all over the internet (could be total BS of course) Eagles did want to go QB but only one of the top guys. So this faith in Hurts angle now being spouted rings hollow.

I suspect we have the top 3 pass catchers graded similarly, and now we should get one while getting picks.

Yeah, I forgot how much they gave up. I was thinking the Texans might be foolish enough to grab Fields if they knew Watson would not play for them. In that case, I can't figure what the Niners are thinking, Only Lawrence is worth what they gave away.

I like the move for SF.....Wilson would be my choice - assuming availability - but my first inclination is that this is for Trey Lance.

If Tua is any good then the AFC is going to get wrecked with all of these top Miami picks. The last two teams to really load up like these were Tennessee who did everything they could to mess up every pick and Cleveland who is just now peaking. Miami is in a way better position than those two teams were.

It was a lot to give up. I am okay with it but if they screw this pick up then it will probably doom Shanahan/Lynch. Jimmy G will probably be back this coming season. At least the top names being mentioned need more experience and a season of sitting. Don't see them as day one starters. If they pick mac Jones than that was a bad move because they did not need to waste capital to get him at #3. I don't know who they are after. There isn't much out there being reported that I find credible as a source.

I hear ya, It’s putting a lot in the basket, if they hit big it can be worth it, hit bad and it can set you back ... I’m curious as heck on who they’re targeting... Draft day drama building ...

I would like to know too. The 49ers site I visit posts every bit of rumors and news out there and really nothing so far.

The pick could be Zach Wilson, too. I'd be happy with either. Lance would make me nervous, but who knows? Maybe he'll be very good.

Roughly 3,000 passing yards, 30TD 1Int. 1300 rushing yards and that was just over a season played. He definitely has potential. See how it plays out. Nice size too

They need to and they are being smart about it. They had a great draft last year and have positioned themselves for a great draft this and next year. With how the Bills have come on and what the Pats did in the offseason they have to stay active to stay competitive. I have doubts as to whether Tua is the right QB to lead them,. but we will see

Spot in. Mia has positioned themselve's well. Now if the GM doesn't screw it up, Flores is in a good spot. Flores could be the first decent coach to fall from the BB tree?

Don't give up two future #1's for the 3rd QB

I get the idea but Watson was #3 in 2017, Mahomes was #2 and Trubisky went #1 so that may not be as big of a deal when you have talented QB's waiting to be drafted.
