For sure. Even with no pitching problems, it's hard to be consistent without a few .300 hitters in the lineup. Even the OBPs have declined.
No one replaced McCutchen's .378 OBP, in fact, Phils are 15-20 since his last game, June 4. Bruce's power helped but McCutchen's experience and skills at the top of the lineup were hard to replace. Plus, Hoskins should be doing better than .253 RISP/Runners On. 12 walks in July, 10 hits, 1 HR - Phils are easy to shut down.
The Phils can only make the post if they all raise their BAs, especially the power guys, Hoskins, Harper, Franco, and Realmuto. Kingery is the only guy hitting over .285. The Braves, Nats, and Dodgers each have four guys hitting over .285. That’s why we are consistently so pathetic.
