Hope it's not Carlos Gonzalez.
Yeah Gonzalez contract is backloaded big time so the Rockies are probably trying to get out that. 17 mil this year.. and 20 mil next year. Granted... you are only on the hook for 2 years and his age 30 and 31 seasons.. but damn.. he is expensive.Hope it's not Carlos Gonzalez.
I'd prefer Blackmon. (They're basicly the same age.) Less injury history and more speed.
But Dickerson seems most likely, just on account of money. Then again, Colorado will prolly try and purge Cargos contract. He would cost the least in a trade, Id imagine. Still, not confident he'd stay healthy.
Wonder what they're looking for? MLB ready or youngsters?
Parra didn't get much, woulda expected more years and more money.
He's a fabled 5 tool guy, but man, the injuries are piling up on him. The knees really have slowed him down the last couple years.Yeah Gonzalez contract is backloaded big time so the Rockies are probably trying to get out that. 17 mil this year.. and 20 mil next year. agreed... i am not worried about the first 3 years or so of a deal with cespedes.. i am however worried about what he would look like at the age of 34,35,36.Too bad Cespedes wants $150 million which is utterly ridiculous considering he is 30.
reports are out that raiders are staying in oakland.. St Louis and San Diego to LA. Wonder how this will affect the A's getting a new stadium that doesn't blow cock. I can't name a MLB team with a stadium shared with a football team that is a nice park.
I doubt verlander gets into the HOF myself.. unless he has 2 or 3 more legit cy young seasons and at least one more great playoff run... but would you really want to bet who would get more votes at this point?
I think if Verlander won another Cy young award along with a couple more all star caliber seasons he would probably get in... I also think if he won a WS along with a few more all star caliber seasons he could get in. He needs to win about 15+ games for four or five more years too probably with an ERA under 3.5.Yeah, Verlander would have to pitch really well until he's 40 to have a shot, IMO. I look at a guy like Bert Blyleven -- 287 wins, 3700+ strikeouts, 3.31 ERA -- Verlander won't touch those wins and Ks, and it took Blyleven 15 years of eligibility to get in.
I think David Price and Felix Hernandez are both on the outside to at this point. My guess out of active pitchers to get into HOF would be Kershaw...out of sheer numbers... his playoff performance probably would hurt him. But I can't think of anyone else with a real solid case as a pitcher right now.
Normally Id agree. Cuz the Coliseum is HUGE!I don't think you'd see Sonny Gray continuing to carry a sub-3.00 ERA in a normal ballpark. Don't get me wrong, he is an excellent pitcher, but he and all A's pitchers are helped tremendously by that ridiculous stadium with its acres of foul territory. Could you imagine JV's ERA, with all the foul balls he induces, pitching in that park for the last 9 years? How many more foul balls would be playable? He wouldn't have nearly as many wins though.
baseball reference does career splits.JVs ERa was 4.04 at home last year. With an impressive 2.61 on the road.
I don't know of any site that lets me do career splits. (Maybe CBS, but fuck them. Not giving em the hits.)
Thanks Vice!baseball reference does career splits.
