3975 yards allowed / 72.7 % completion percentage / 33 tds 10 int / 106.5 QB rating
19th in yards allowed
25th in yards per attempt
32nd in completion percentage (72.7 % is actually the worst of all time)
31st in touchdown passes allowed
26th in interceptions
31st in sacks
32nd in opposing QB rating
This plays right into our strengths this year on offense. Russell is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league, Detroit is giving up an all time worst 72.7 % completion percentage. Our weakness has been protecting our quarterback, Detroit is one of the worst at getting to the quarterback. Russ is above average going deep and has the weapon to go vertical, Detroit is 25th in yards per attempt.
I'm not saying abandon the run game, but given the match up I think it's best we rely on our passing game. Supplement the lack of a run game with high percentage passes, run more uptempo and take advantage of the Detroit secondary.
