9-7, 8-7-1 and 7-9 is not building either, in fact it's just the opposite. We have to remember that we're pulling for the team and that team is being constantly built and rebuilt every two to three years by these guys.

Maybe we should go from a 5 year rebuild to a 10 year one in order to have a half assed chance in 5.

if you keep cutting short 5 years what can i say ? however before that stretch of 500 ball we were much worse

Yes. A 3-4 year “bridge”.

Someone who will keep this team very competitive for the next 3-4 years. Maybe even make a good run or two in the playoffs. Who knows maybe more if the stars align?

The FO will draft a QB (or two) the next several years and develop them properly to take over after Smith leaves. I mean the guy is almost 34, you expect him to be around a decade or something??
why make the trade then ? we could get that with the Fa qbs . remember no choice ? well we did have a choice if treading water is the goal and a 10 yr rebuild is the plan

Cousins is a decent QB but he doesn't deserve that kind of money. He reminds me of Romo, he won't get you to the SB. Kinda like Rivers.

I didn't want to start a new thread on this but I do have questions:

1. Has Kirk Cousins been priced out of his worth?

2. Besides market forces, Why would a team want to pay Cousins when the cheaper and longer term option would be the draft or keeping their own in the case of Minnesota?

3. Beyond the obvious answer "he will" what happens if Kirk goes unsigned?

4. Are we now at that point where a guy like Cousins will serve as the first casualty in the NFL's attempt to reign in QB's salaries or are we there yet? (Rogers will get almost twice what Kirk will and won't sign until after Kirk does)

5. Same question...Collusion NFL style anyone?

6. Will there be a bidding war and how high will the pending bidding war go for his services? (Jets and Bronchos are already "all in" for him.

1) no the vikes and broncos think they are close
2) a stable good proven qb solves a lot
3) the CFL or the x fl loom large
4) no
5)no
6) could be but i think winning will be the key

Please do it Vikings.

But do it for six years.

It would be nice to watch their defense begin to slowly depart. Due to all of their cap space being tied up into Kirk.

I would like that.

Why are you guys entertaining the idea of dealing Howard for Jarvis Landry?

That seems stupid. But I would not mind seeing it.

Nah. That was a BS internet rumor that somehow caught on. Rapoport and other insiders shut it down very quickly.

I just can't see a team handing over 90M in guarantees on a 3 year deal.If some of the tweets are right and he's looking for a short term deal at 30M/year, I think he'll be disappointed. If those are his demands, teams will demand a 5 or even 6 year deal.

some of these guys just dont know contracts and anything about the cap . 3 yrs 90 mil guaranteed means that guaranteed money hits hard every year with no way to space out the cap hit

that means a team would have to virtually rely on the draft to build the team up and sustain success. and we are talking about contenders not the browns or jets . 90 mil in guarantees isnt out of line if its for 5-6 years but 3 . i dont trust those reports yet

Reports starting to hit the wire stating it is likely down to the Vikes and the Jets. If so, he would be an absolute fool to sign with the Jets... more money be damned.

he has to take less money if wants to play with the vikes my prediction vikes will offer 24 -26 mill and tell kirk camp take it or die with the jets. vikes have the leavage because there the only legit play off team thats wants him
