Any free agent that signs with the Marlins and works for Loria will get exactly what they deserve. I say they'll make maybe two years and then get flipped for prospects. I am predicting two years only because of the new stadium. Delgado only made it 1 year.

I think I am going to be sick. Sounds like Pujols signing with Miami is inevitable. I think even the Cubs would be preferable to that. Can you imagine arguably the greatest player in MLB history playing home games where only a few thousand people show up only to be traded in a couple of seasons. It will be his choice but that just makes me ill. At least with the Cubs you get a team that wants to win, just inept at the concept, and fans who do show up to games and a team that isn't in the habit of jettisoning players for financial reasons.

Rumors today is that Pujols is going to re-sign with the Cardinals and that the Marlins made their last offer which the Cardinals have already matched or topped. Plus he gets the no-trade guarantees, the packed house every game and a stable franchise that is competitive every year. 10 years is an insane amount of time to give anyone though.
