Detroit isn't moving and I don't think Columbus would move either - more than likely, if Quebec is an expansion team, they'd have to settle for going to the West

That would be awful and a terrible idea. So yeah, you're probably right.

Be like the good ol days in MLB when Atlanta was in the west

I think it would make more sense to put a hockey team where there are actual hockey fans.

Washington state has four WHL teams :noidea:
And who draws the most fans out of those 4 teams? I would put money on it being the Chiefs, and they're 5 hours from Seattle.

I think you're probably correct that the Chiefs have the best attendance of the four teams - Also, Washington state hockey fans are used to paying WHL ticket prices, will they be willing to pay 4-5 times that amount to watch NHL hockey? There are still legitimate concerns about a NHL team in Seattle, but at least there have been junior teams in the market for over 20 years and a generation has had the opportunity to watch some pretty good hockey.

There are a ton of people in that megatropolis and they have some really good fans. I have no doubt that if a team came and the team played well, the arena would be filled. Seattle is kind of a bandwagon fan place IMO. I feel that a NHL team deserves more than that.

Just curious DHoey, what are your thoughts on renovating Key Arena versus building a new arena in the SoDo district? Renovation of Key Arena would be cheaper, but I think a new arena close to Centurylink and Safeco Field is the way to go.

It would be hard for me to say because I've never been to a NHL arena. But I do have fond memories of Key Arena from watching both the T-birds and Sonics play there, I just don't know how it would accomodate a NHL team. I love the aestetics of Key Arena, the area is nice and you can hangout for the day and plenty to do.

My personal thoughts on a new arena would be to get it out of Downtown. I thought the Renton area would have been a great choice.

Just throwing this out, I think an outdoor game at the Clink would be badass!
