The whining of Damien Cox deserves the bulk of the credit...

/There was no hearing, but it was quite a hearing.

Kessel gets the rest of the pre-season - Nice one Shanny.

This seems like a rather strange fine, especially since Scott was already on the ice and since the Leafs had last change.

That's really lame. Purposely using your stick as a weapon "more than once" definitely deserved more.

This. Kessel gets the rest of the pre season (I think the Leafs have two left) and it's just pre season? A double slash to the legs of a players that is engaged and that's all he gets? I'm not saying Scotts a saint but damn Kessel got off easy.

Well they were playing Toronto.

Edit: The Leafs have three games left so that's better. :L

Suspending Kessel three pre-season games is akin to suspending a MLB pitcher three games for throwing at a batter (i.e. he won't miss his next start).

Good analogy it's the same thing dash. Well being a Sabres fan I am not going to go on about this before I'm accused of crying about it but I would be saying the same no matter what teams were playing and what player was involved. Just baffled. I think most posters know me well enough that I try and be as non biased as possible.

OK, enough from me.

Does this mean any slash during the regular season that goes to Shanahan will get a pre-season suspension as well?

The poor Sabres have been wronged again...*rolls eyes*
The Kassian suspension was a far bigger joke than this

The only reason why Rolston was fined, was because there was no way in hell he could just suspend both Clarkson and Kessel, while the Sabres got nothing. Toronto would have shit a baby.

He knew the Sabres did nothing wrong, but did it in order to try and appease them somewhat.

:bullshit:

probably

but ... if youre a bit of a dense player with no nhl suspension history and you like it when your hits make alot of noise so you swing your stick recklessly at the glass and you end up breaking someones jaw its 3 preseason games plus 5 regula season games

or ... if youre a repeat offender who happens to be an allstar defenseman it will be a 1 gamer in the playoffs

Maybe Phil confused Scott with Schenn?

How much do you think the fine will end up being?

Over/Under $3000

1 game's salary for Scott - which is about $9,500 - I'm going to take the over.

/Although if that is really his twitter account, he should get some credit for the nice use of alliteration with shit for brains shanahan

I'll just go ahead and pencil you in for "over".

But in all seriousness, what would have happened if Scott was out there, and nothing happened. Would Rolston still be fined?

I really would like to hear Shanny explain this one in a cute little video.
