I'm a bit surprised Peterson withdrew his name from USC and is considering Washington. No disrespect to the Huskies, just a bit odd.

Ducks will drop a load in their diapers if he does come here. The scars have never healed from what Peterson did to them twice.

Seriously this rivalry needs a name Oregon vs UW clearly hate each other and the rest of the PAC can see it....... I was at a asu basketball vs Uofa game. I remember when Graham got introduced these 2 Uofa fans were saying Rodriguez was way better and one of the Uofa fans said "any coach is better" little did they know........:yahoo:

Petersons son got cancer when he was only a couple years old. There is a cancer specialist doctor that lives around Boise who has treated his son for many years now. He trusts him with his sons care above anyone else. Think Petersen loves living in Idaho and the extra time coaching a midmajor gives him to spend with his family.

USC is a 25 hour a day job. So much added gaga including smoozing an army of millionaire and billionaire alums, tons of media commitments, and non-stop recruitment duties.

Awesome. Another new system for UDud. It'll take them 4 years to do anything and by the third they'll be calling for 7 win Petersen's head

You do realize they were running the uptempo this year and he has had many dual threat QB's. I really don't think what he has here in terms of remaining players are going to prevent him from putting up wins. What makes him attractive is his ability to prepare and get his kids to do their jobs to the very best of their ability. His teams just don't under perform based on talent. If Petersen did take the job expect UW to win at least 9 next year.

Also this notion that Wilcox is already gone is not exactly true. Could Petersen convince his former DC to stay? That is at least possible and that could stabilize things enough to keep their commits and finish up a decent recruiting class.

You can troll on about it all you want, but deep down you fear him coming to Montlake and for good reason.

I still say I'll believe it when I see it, but if they announced it right now I'd be running outside in the frozen streets and doing a little dance.

Unfortunately you're probably right.

Apparently a recent Boise State commitment, Will Dissly said Petersen told him he was not going anywhere.

Yeah because coaches never tell the recruits that and then turn around and leave:doh:

Im pretty sure UW medical could handle it

um not really

Yeah, why would you fear a HC that took a few teams to BCS bowls and top 10 finishes and beat Oregon twice, including on their home turf, while running a mid major team? How silly of us to suggest it. :laugh3:

I think it will be hilarious when HC candidate #2 turns down UW.

This would be sad news for Boise. Always liked the Huskies. They're the UW of the Pac!

Please. You know UW is a great job you just don't want to admit it. Petersen turns everyone down. It's not going to be a shock when he turns us down either.

Mora's rejection really did surprise me but all that shows is the guy talks out of his ass a lot so it's probably for the better.

Now if Nuss turns us down for strike 3 then you may have something. :suds:

Look at all these rumors!

Just kind of embarrassing IMO.

No need for it to be. People who have turned it down amount to a grand total of 1 right now. Mora has a good thing going in UCLA and they have new facilities in the works as well. I've heard UW offered to double his salary but oh well. He's happy there I guess. Happiness happens. Good for him.

I bet it's Petersen... RT @ESPN_Colin: Been told a pretty prominent coll fb coach WILL accept UW job---if offered.

Problem is rumors are always flying around Petersen. I won't buy into it until I hear it.

Now Petersen is in Seattle today so I would expect to hear one way or the other on him by tomorrow at the latest, but just because he is here doesn't mean he is accepting any offer.

Mamba, you are now appearing quite worried. Trying way too hard to troll. It's kind of obvious coming from you. Again, I wouldn't listen to a thing any duck says about this situation. Can't expect an honest thing out of any of you.

For sure. And prominent doesnt have to mean Petersen either. Though Colin is leaning that way.

Then again it's Colin so meh.

The college football world has been waiting to see what Petersen can do with actual talent. I think he would have more success at a California school i.e. Cal Berkeley but he could definitely build a program at UW.

I do not see it as embarrassing. They reached out to Mora at UCLA. It is generally tough to pull a guy out of conference. That was a lateral move. Petersen just turned down USC. He has turned down a lot of big jobs. If they offer a MAC guy or a Coordinator and he turns them down you can laugh.
