Not sure I agree. Assuming he went to Florida, he'd be running his system with better players than he had at Oregon.

It's why the Chip to USC rumors were intriguing a few years ago...his system with USC's athletes.

SEC has good front 7's tho. Chips systems gets buttfucked by a good D-Line.

Confirmed that UF is looking at Chip Kelly as next head coach. Decision could be as soon as this week. Also heard that Florida was becoming very frustrated with Jimmy Sexton, who represents many other potential candidates. Chip is represented by David Dunn.

The 5 seasons prior to Kelly joining the ducks they had one 10-2 season the rest were 5-8 wins and no bowl wins.
First year under his system they went 9-4 and a bowl win. The rest of the time he was there they never went less than 10 wins, never lost to either of their rivals, and they won at least their division every single season he was head coach.

All from a pile of crap place like Ewwwgene Oregon.

1) He's from Wood River, NE.
2) His parents (grandma and grandpa to the newborn) live in Wood River.
3) Wood River is 2.5 hours from Omaha and only 1.5 hours from Lincoln.
3) What coach who puts in 12+ hours a day wants to spend 2+ hours of every day commuting between Lincoln and Omaha?

Sure, you can have any opinion you like. I pointed out facts. Facts about what he has done as an OC and HC at the college level. I wouldn't put him in the top 4 or 5 coaches at this level, but he'd be somewhere in the second tier and got to that point at school not known for winning that had nothing more than fancy x-boxes in their lockers to attract players with. Imagine what he might do with more of a blue blood school or one with a lot of built in recruiting advantages.

I don't think NFL experience has anything to do with how good a college coach is. Good grief the best college coach out there failed in the NFL. Yes, failed. He saw the writing on the wall and got the fuck out of Miami.

Kelly is an excellent college coach, I do think he inherited a team on the rise, with a plan already in place, but he executed it to near perfection. Frost was a big part of that as well though...

I hope he goes to Florida as SEC defenses have adjusted to the type offense he wants to run (trust me I know) and it takes a special type of QB which is tough to find and develop.

Chip's best team couldn't beat Auburn and that was the worst defense to win a NC in the modern era.

Not to mention culturally he is going to be a horrible fit.

Actually it was Kelly that brought their brand of spread offense in '07 and launched them. Frost came in when he took over as HC in '09 and kept on running what Kelly had installed.

That's why I get being more high on Kelly than Scott right now. It was Kelly's system he ran at Oregon and he hasn't been a HC very long at the level he's at, but he's not going up against world beaters. I don't think he's had a signature win at UCF has he? And if anyone says Memphis I'm going to laugh at them.
