Pacing for 67-68 right now. Playing in the East this year will be a HUGE advantage and they have already had most of their tough Eastern matchups anyway. Team is GREAT at home and almost as good on the road. Any shot they become the second team to 70 wins or will they start resting guys once they wrap up the 1 seed??? ( already a 5 game lead not even halfway through the year)

I'm thinking 65-ish. Their sole focus is going to be the Miami Heat and millions of fans are drooling over that series.

This is an interesting chart that would support the possibility...

By far the easiest schedule in the NBA.

Maybe they play in the Leastern conf. But even if they did. there should be an * next to it. The East is just terrible. Pacers are anywhere from a 1-5 seed in the West. Don't show me their 11-2 (3-2 on the road against playoff West Teams) record against the West because if they really a West team they would be playing better teams on a regular. Not one per Week. The have played one the easiest schedule so far in the league as weel.

I lean more towards this scenario too HD, I think they probably have the ! seed wrapped up with at least a few weeks left. Cant see any reason to keep playing the guys once the 1 seed is wrapped up

It'll be interesting to see if there is a good race for the 1 seed.

4.5 game lead currently, but with 2 head to head games in late march/early april, that lead can be quickly cut by 2 full games.

The Heat have a history of reeling off wins after the all-star break, so we'll see.

No. My guess is around 60 wins. It does help that the East is as pathetic as it is though.

The Pacers are still a fairly young team. I doubt they will be interesting in anything beyond securing home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Player improvement and development will be equally prioritized. None of the "Big Three" have optimized their potential at this point.

Hmmm... but the Pacers are much more defensively built than any of those examples.... damn it.

A better example would be that Pistons team who went 64-18 and lost to the Heat in the ECF who just went 52-30 that yr
