Cam Newton was more confused than angry after learning he was the butt of an internet joke thread regarding Richard Sherman's run-in with the Seattle sports media.

"I know I ain't the smartest guy in the world, but I don't know how these clowns on the internet can't recognize a fake story when they see one. Myself, I knowed it was fake right away, cause the picture they showed of me? I haven't worn that outfit in months..."

The joke in question appeared on semi-popular website Sportshoop.la earlier in the day. The phony story indicated that Cam Newton, himself a petulant and whiny putz of dubious mental capabilities, had spoken out against Richard Sherman after the Seattle Cornerback threatened to take away some guy's media card.

Current site owner @Shaggy could not be reached for comment. He is presumed "sauced" and riding on a big boat in international waters
