Yeah I think they just have L. Murray, Marlon Mack and Chase Edmonds now...
Ah yeah, forgot about Murray. He's pretty capable. Wasn't even tracking they had Chase Edmonds also, but now he's sidelined as well. This season in Denver is an unmitigated turd circus.

What should Seattle pay Geno if they extend him ? I’m a little worried they’ll overpay, he’s having 1 solid half of a season so far, I don’t think that’s a big enough resume to give him some massive contract ..

The word on the street states that his value would be around $33 million assuming he gets the franchise tag...

Interesting … Tag might save a little ? What if they do a 3-4 year deal ?

I think we have to look at what the true market might be for Geno Smith, which includes considering who else out there will be a free agent at the QB position. Here are a few:
  • Jimmy Garoppolo
  • Sam Darnold
  • Baker Mayfield
  • Jacoby Brissett
  • Andy Dalton
  • Tom Brady
Now, we might laugh at a couple of those names, but what's happened this season with Geno Smith should make you re-think the possibilities for a guy like Sam Darnold. Did we think any more of Geno before this season than we did of Baker Mayfield or Jacoby Brissett? I really doubt it. If Geno can have this kind of success on this team in this system, why can't another journeyman who up to this point would be considered a bust based on where they were drafted and what they've done in the league? Is someone really going to pay Geno Smith that much more than all of these guys based on one good season? I think those questions and considerations might work to 1) reduce the market for Geno and accordingly 2) make his price tag a little more team friendly to bring him back to Seattle if that's what they want to do.

lets see how the season plays out, but I think it would be a mistake for geno to think he could go anywhere else and be as successful as he has been this season.

I think that is probably how it would go as well (he goes somewhere else and doesn't keep it going like this), but you know pro athletes... always will bet on themselves.

Think that is right, but on the other hand, this is a one-time chance for Geno to cash in and that is something he's not passing up.

If Geno walks due to being over paid, that's fine cause the ace up our sleeve is the Broncos draft pick. Seattle can still draft a franchise QB being on a rookie contract and still being able to build the team with 3 more top picks while adding a FA or 2 if needed.

Should we snag OBJ? Eskridge is a bust and likely out for the year.. OBJ knows Waldron's system, and we need another wideout despite running a 3 TE set fairly often.. thoughts?

Fair enough, we should pick up someone else though. We're pretty thin and not sure Young is ready to go, yet. I wonder if Seattle will take a wideout with one of our 1sts or 2nds next year. Lockett is getting older (although thankfully we still have him locked up for a few more years) and we're pretty thin at the position, and wideouts are insanely overpriced at the moment (Metcalf was a bargain resigning at this point).

Adams was one of the other WRs I was saying Woolen had to shut down before you can call him elite.... he quieted Hopkins, Evans went off a little bit, if he can shut down Adams I'd say we're on to something. Kupp will be out the week after.... looking forward to that matchup tomorrow.
