wants a shorter term deal. he is betting on himself again. has to be hard to turn down 90 mil
This is a dumb move by him. By the time 3 years pass he will be some what ending his Prime. I take the 90 mill and run with it. Also if this happens u trade him in his last year.wants a shorter term deal. he is betting on himself again. has to be hard to turn down 90 mil
I've said from Day 1 that he's headed to the Lakers. Mylie must be trying to "convince" him.
And I think D Rose and Jimmy were at odds when it came down to the offense. D Rose did shoots a lot.
Well, the Bulls offered him the 1 year qualifying offer for basically peanuts (4-5 mil) and the max qualifying offer of 5 years for 90 million. Butler can still look for a 3 year deal from another team, but I doubt anyone with cap space is going to offer butler anything so the Bulls can sit on their hands while other top FAs are signed up only to match a few days later. Butler can basically bet on himself for another year and take the QO, or cash in and take the maximum QO from the Bulls. He might be able to negotiate a three year deal with the Bulls as well. If he takes the QO, it gives Bulls fans a reason to worry. However, even if he becomes a UFA next year the Bulls will still be able to offer him the longest contract with the biggest raises. So, if it is about money, he can make the most with the Bulls. He isn't going any where. NBA rules he can't accept a 1 year off for another team. He will at least be with the bulls for another 2 years and thats if he wants to turn down 85 mill. I don't see that happening. I expect him to be a Bull and maybe he signs that 3 year deal but Im going with the 5 year deal. I can't see him turning that all that money. Even if its a 2-3 year deal by that time would he even be a max player anymore. i don't think so.
From the rumors I am hearing, he wants to go to the Lakers. I thought he wanted to stay with the Bulls. I think the thing to do is attempt to trade him to LA right now for the second pick. Maybe offer a sign and trade that brings back the number two pick. I wouldn't know how to do that unless LA included Kobe though, and I'm not sure they are going to want to trade him just before his last year and include the number two pick.
I said they would have to include Kobe for salaries which makes the trade improbable. Read much? So, you want Kobe and D'Angelo Russell for Butler?!?
Butler would most likely prefer to play for the Bucks.I've said from Day 1 that he's headed to the Lakers. Mylie must be trying to "convince" him.

I don't buy the Derrick Rose/Jimmy Butler feud. Nazr Mohammad tweeted earlier that that was just a rumor. They just reported that the Bulls offered butler a 5 year max contract with a player option for the last year. And heirs seriously considering it. Honestly though, I think a lot of this drama is brewed up by his agent and reporters trying to make a story. I bet Butler signs this 5 year deal. Butler may have interest in another team giving him an offer, but other teams don't. By offering Butler the Max over five years they are telling other teams that it will be a waste of time to offer him any contract because the Bulls will match.Yeah, but eventually you gotta start counting what he turned down over the past two years being close to 20 million if he takes the 4.5 to leave next year.
They basically gave him everything they offered Carmello. 5 year or three with an opt out after two. Difference is, we are one year closer to that supposed payday so the opt out would have to be after 1 to really be put in that drivers seat.
Part of me just wonders if Butler is interested in money at all and would prefer not to be that derrick reason of taking all the money and not being able to play. Maybe takes the qualifying offer so he can leave without the chance for the bulls to be able to force him back by matching the offer, even if they offer more money. The one year qualifying offer money is the way he can leave, and that could be the year Kobe is finally gone.
There still is the incentive to offer him 3/60 from teams around the league, in all honesty, its better to be able to cut ties if he does not continue to play at this level without strapping the team with two more years.
