After the Browns released linebacker Karlos Dansby and wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in March, safety Donte Whitner said he wasn’t worried about getting released by the Browns as part of the team’s latest housecleaning and that he wanted “to win a championship in Cleveland myself.”

Can't say i'm surprised. The guy could lay the lumber, but he was a liability against the pass. Brownies are in full rebuild mode again... and again... and again...

He wasn't the player he used to be his last year in SF.

If the Patsies picked him up they could teach him how to cheat, lie, and get fined for it....

Seriously OS, why would Baltimore not be all over Whitten?
Are you going to continue the Elam experiment? Why?????
Baltimore is not even fun to make fun of any more because the secondary is so bad.....

Wow, I didn't realize they'd let Dansby go. The guy's 34, but that's a steal 1-year for CIN at $1m.

Donte Whitner lol. 49ers fans for a few years used to call him Donte 'Hitner'. I called him Donte 'Whifner'. For every decent hit the guy made he blew a couple tackles and several pass deflections.

I laughed pretty hard when the only fitting team - 'The Browns' signed this turd.

I wouldn't mind that at all, Elam just needs a stamp to be a bonafide bust, and with Eric Weddle at FS would really sure up the middle for us....
Whitner isn't outstanding in pass coverage though but can bring the wood and covers the run well, reminds me of Bernard Pollard...
Couldn't hurt, I still expect Elam to be released or traded if possible....:hope:

IDK how it's going to work out for CLE in the long run...we know they're going to suck in the short term, but they are doing the right thing imo.

Whitner is still a good at what he does well, but was no longer worth the cap hit in CLE...same thing with Dansby...Bowe was just a mistake from the start.

On a contender...Whitner makes sense.
