Why wouldn't Buffalo just franchise or transition Taylor next year if he plays good this year? If he plays well this year Buffalo can ensure he doesn't hit the open market.

Not sure if the Bills can afford the tag...they are strapped.

Way too much....Trust me, we know him well, last yr was a fluke....Chances of Tyrod the Terrible I called him, repeating is extremely unlikely....I am shocked that the Broncos aren't all over Nick Foles, can get him on the cheap and just a few yrs ago he was flourishing in a similar system in Philly....

I think the crash and burn factor is in play for Osweiler as well...and he got a whole lot of guaranteed cash....same with Cousins...we might think we know, but there is a risk factor with all 3.

Ship Tyrod out of Buffalo and then they can trade a 3rd-rounder to the Titans for Mettenberger.
Someone seems to be jumping on the Mariotta bandwagon...

No, those are 2 pronunciations of the same word.

Dubious =/= skeptical.

If you are dubious, then the indictment is upon you, not the source of that story.
I envy people that have nothing to worry about and get to spend time worrying about things like this...

Because Foles is really terrible. Once teams got some tape on him, he's been awful. His little run was a fluke.

Interesting trade...

Looking at the value, the Browns would be losing about 530 points in trade value (equiv of an early 2nd round pick) just on the picks (based on the old value chart, which we could say those top 10 picks are even more valuable with lower contracts today for them), so the Bronco's player would have to have some good worth (young, talented starter, not overpriced). And Browns are losing any chance to get a top 2 QB in the draft..
Yeah, but if they're not sold on either QB, then it's a moot point. The way I see it, they need to grab as many early picks as they can, and this deal would give them 4 of the top 49 picks. I like that much more than putting it all on Goff, who I'm not sold on at all.

Well, unless the Bills want second choice of the QBs, this deal would seem to be dead.

Are the Broncos that desperate for a QB?

If there's any truth to this (which I doubt), my guess is Shaquil Barrett. Rumor was he was the sticking point that kept the Joe Thomas trade from going through. The Browns wanted him but Denver was unwilling to give him up.

I think Taylor as Denver's QB is a better fit than Kaepernick. Taylor reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson, and I think he has a ton of potential. The guy was a pro-bowler last year too, and he's cheap (for now). I think this would be a solid pick up for Denver depending on who the unnamed roster player they'd have to give up is.

This is complete hogwash. If anyone thinks Tyrod is worth a 2nd round pick, let alone a 1st rounder, I have a bridge in Arizona to sell you.

Denver could just sign Fitz or McCown & keep the pick, drafting their possible future starting QB.

They'd need to trade for McCown, he's still under contract.

From what I'm hearing listening to Cleveland's CBS affiliate this morning, this trade was nothing but a rumor but no real truth to it at this point. Probably can move on.

Not once the draft is over. He will be released. It's a sideshow Cleveland doesn't need. You signed RG3 & likely will draft a QB, where does McCown fit in?

They don't have to release him though. They know he's a commodity that several teams would like to have, so why let him go for nothing? If they end up not taking a QB at two, they'll still likely take someone developmental later on, so you're right, they'd need to get rid of either McCown or Austin Davis. I just would be surprised if they let McCown go for nothing if they can get something for him, which they could.

No one is trading for McCown. That is why he will be released after the draft.

If they didn't release McCown, it would just create unnecessary potential drama. It's unneeded. Why would the Browns open themselves up to that? They should just draft a QB somewhere in the draft & roll with RG3 for at least 2016.

But then again, it;s the Browns. :noidea:

What drama would it create? McCown is on record saying he understands his role as a bridge QB for the Browns and that he has no problem helping to bring along a younger QB.

I disagree. He fits well with a team that needs a backup QB (Dallas). They could get something for him, albeit not just a whole lot.
