And this is the exact reason why we have been losing of late. We cant expect to swing at first pitches and win all year. Not working the count only puts the opposing pitcher in a favorable position. Is it really that hard to lay off the balls clearly out of the strike zone. Every other team we play does it. I bet its safe to say we probably avg the least amount of pitches seen by a team in the entire league.

thats gotta be the book on us too, throw them junk and they will get themselves out...and the book on our pitchers has to be to wait us out because we will implode all by ourselves and be happy with 3 outs even if they throw 30 pitches an inning...

chris davis hasnt seen a fastball in a week...but hes doing a damn good job of getting himself out every at-bat...

weiters there r no words that describe is at-bats all year long...as a catcher, only stubbornness or stupidity would allow this to happen himself 4-5 times/game
