Yeah, that was about as good as it got for division rivalries. I miss Harbaugh, and I always respected Pete Carroll. I was clamouring for the Niners to sign Carroll when Steve Mariucci was the coach and Carroll was unemployed.

Niners will be pretty good but not a SB contender. They're still a couple of star players away IMO. People are getting unrealistic expectations for them IMO. The NFC West is a friggn' nightmare right now, so I'm expecting probably 9 wins.

Maybe if they make a couple of blockbuster signings / trades or something...

9ers and Seattle battle for 3rd place in the division this year.
However Jimmy G could be the difference maker. We'll have to wait and see?
Then it will be AZ and Seattle fighting for the 3rd spot.

Yah I saw this earlier today... sucks. Really wish he could've done this prior to free agency for the extra cap room.

Not too worried about Seattle's secondary. They drafted a shit ton of secondary players a year ago and Kam was starting to show consistency issues.

Really hate that his injury is forcing his retirement. I was at VT same time as him and ran into him a couple of times thru mutual friends. Couldn't have been a nicer, cooler guy. He was on his way to the hall of fame but at least he still had a great career.

And the thing I liked most about all of those massive hits you see, they're all legal. None of that launching shit, using helmet as a weapon, etc. He knew how to properly tackle and still bring Thor's hammer worth of hurt.

Don't think he officially retired - he was not medically cleared to play and probably will never be. The Seahawks are on the hook for about $12 mm over the next two years. I don't think he gets those bucks if he officially retires.
