There is a really cool fight going on over there between those who think Franklin bringing Vandy recruits with him is great and those who think it is dirty.

We aren't used to firewagon recruiting quite yet. Everything those coaches did 2 years ago was within the rules but still slimy. The difference between what Urban was able to do & what others attempted was the quality of the program. I blame the NCAA for that more than I do Urban.

As far as Franklin's guys coming to PSU? We didn't ask LOB to go to the Texans & Franklin had the free will to turn us down. If his recruits want to follow him here, they should be allowed to.

I think Mack will take the year off no matter what for image purposes. If he takes a job right away, then there is no doubt he was forced out. Not that their is much now anyway, but at least now he can claim he left on his own. But if he waits a year, he can be like well I thought I wanted to retire, but didn't really etc.

He'll be showing up on ESPN or Foxsports as an insider is my guess for the next year. To keep his name active. After that, he may decide he doesn't want to coach any more, or might take a job.

Seems to be the way it's done these days.

I have no problem with them coming to PSU even if they verbally committed to Vandy. I don't get the "slimy" comment. PSU had a problem in 2011. Urban called some guys who had verbally committed to PSU. They changed their minds. If one is slimy, so is the other. I personally don't have a problem with either.

I have a problem with the double standard. Now THAT is slimy.

I guess that the coaches that were hanging around the residence halls looking to talk to players about leaving was the slimiest part. 2 years later it all just lumps together for me. Recruits changing their mind is one thing, active players leaving is another. I should have clarified before I gave an overall generalization of everything being slimy.

No Ohio State coach or representative went to State College. That was Illinois. Ohio State did not accept any players from PSU that wanted to transfer.
