Im not saying he's a bad coordinator hire.

But the fact that you're calling 73-68 an "amazing" job kinda proves my point. He's one fluke season away from sub .500 status.
Can't really call it a fluke when he followed that 11-win season up (their first 10+ win season in 30 years, mind you) with two more 8 win seasons and two more 9 win seasons over his final 5 years there, along with 5 bowl wins (the first 5 in the program's history). You're extremely ignorant.

there's a huge difference between 8-5 and 10-2. a world of difference.

Aww, you've literally not proven a single point. But keep on telling everyone how you "win" on a sports message board. Everyone is very impressed.

Schiano built Rutgers. The only "fluke year" the had was in 2010 when the lost 8 games. I'd expect a Schiano led team, that's not a major university, to win 8-9 games a year. After James Franklin's bitch ass gets fired I wouldn't be surprised if he were their next hire...although that could be Matt Rhule.

I don't know why he didn't get a head coaching job and frankly I don't care. I know his track record and this will be the first time since Miami that he's going to have elite talent.

Back on topic: Don Brown is a good hire; however, I've been reading in other places that he plays soft coverage regarding his corners which is similar to the "bend don't break" Hoke er defenses. Perhaps that was out of necessity considering he's always had less talented players at UConn, Maryland, and BC, but that concerns me. Even though I feel Derpkin was overrated he didn't really do that with our DBs, which I preferred.

I see reading comprehension isn't one of your strong points.

So he's not even as good of a HC as Bo Pelini?

Whatever you say bud. Schiano was an elite hire, sorry you don't understand facts. But keep this "victory" close to your heart. Lord knows that shitshow team of yours isn't sniffing one on the field against the Buckeyes anytime soon.

Bo Pelini was coaching Nebraska, not Rutgers. Are you not aware that Nebraska and Rutgers aren't the same caliber job?

you said you'd expect a schiano lead team to win 8-9 games per year.

how does that not fit? Or did you mean a non-power 5 Schiano lead team?

yes, one good season. a few decent ones, a single ranked team and a barely .500 record.

The facts don't back you up.

Truly ignorant.

Tell me about all of the defensive coordinators in CFB that have accomplished as much as Schiano has over the last 15-20 years.

Nebraska is a major university...

Major university is a rather subjective term at this point. So how long is that list?

And if it's not a major university what would you expect him to do?

Let me put it another way. If Schiano coached at Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers, Arizona State, Pittsburgh, etc. I'd expect him to win 8-9 games a year

Can someone remind me what Brady Hoke's record was before he went to UM and all of the Wolverine fans were telling us how he was a great hire?

And the UM fans poach a coach from a team that goes 7-6, 7-6, and 3-9 and are touting it has a great hire while shitting on the coach that took Rutgers, RUTGERS, to be semi-respectable.
