Oh well. It's only one game. If it wasn't for Napoli going deep in the 9th, he wouldn't have been out there. It could still end up being true. Kela is dinged up, Barnette stinks, and bush is shaky at best. The bullpen had 4 blown saves on the last road trip alone. I'm just trying to look for something that's probably not there. All one can do is have hope and the guys we had at the beginning of the season don't inspire a lot of confidence

Closer by committee..........The reason the Rangers have resorted to this is because they’ve blown 17 saves, as many wins-turned-into-losses as they committed all last year. Consider if they’d converted, say, five of those. Houston would still remain far out front, but the Rangers would lead the wild card standings, and you wouldn’t be screaming at your big screen TV.

No matter what else you hear about the Rangers’ other problems this season -- a record-breaking strikeout rate, injured starters, the hieroglyphics in the outfield grass at the Globe -- the bullpen is unquestionably the chief culprit for the Rangers’ current middling state. Nothing demoralizes a club like a bad bullpen. A hitter can strike out, a fielder throw one away, a manager get brain-lock, and it’s just part of the game. But let a closer blow a save, and listen to the crickets in the clubhouse.
