Big 10 Recruiting Standings 2013 (Updated 8/16/12 10:00pm)

Big pickup today for the Buckeyes. DL Sprinkle an Ohio native verbally committed a couple of hours ago. Big frame guy only weighing in at 245 lbs. He'll fill out that frame for football season. He plays basketball as well, which leads me to believe he cuts weight during basketball season. Anyway that is #9 and still counting.

Urban Meyer has struck again, this time OSU has a commitment from 4-star dual-threat QB JT Barrett out of Dayton OH. Buckeyes up to 10 commits (see edited list in post above).

And Purdue is on the board - they have their first commit in Danny Etling, 3-star QB out of Terre Haute, IN. Standings are updated.

He was a Wisconsin target as well. I thought we had a decent shot at him since we've recruited Our Lady of Good Council well and we offered really early. He was a two way recruiting target, but it sounds like he is content to play OLB (where he is rated higher). If he felt some major desire to play RB instead of OLB, I think we'd probably have gotten him because of our history with bigger backs.

This is a very good pickup by Meyer. Nice thing about Meyer, he can get recruits from coast to coast and from the deep south in SEC country. Furthermore, he gets the very best in his home state of Ohio.

I'm hearing that Alex Anzalone, the much-sought LB, has given a verbal to Ohio St. Also, Colin Goebel, a 3-star, 275-lb. OG from Naperville, IL, has committed to Iowa. I'll wait until the services report the Anzalone move before updating the standings.
