Few will recognize Caleb, but this guy came to our church about 7 years ago and put on about a 3 minute set that was unlike anything I have seen before...and I am a huge Eddie Van Halen fan. This guy is truly legit...

I know this is an opinion thread, but how is there only a single mention of Buddy Guy? Half of the guys on the list point to him as their influence (SRV, Page, Jimi, Clapton, etc.). SRV always said he's the best alive. Dude is going to be 80 in a couple weeks, and he's still killing it. Y'all need some Buddy Guy in your life for real.

1a Stevie Ray Vaughn
1b Jeff Beck

Then everyone else.

I can see an argument made for top 10 in these Guitarists. Keith Richards, Pete Townsend, Duane Allman, David Gilmore, Neil Young, Les Paul (duh), Brian May, John Frusciante

abs imo Slash and Angus shouldnt be here. More like around 50ish
Did you know your 1A and 1 B toured toghether one year. They used to go back and forth to whom would play first. At the Oakland Coliseum, Beck opened.

Can you give me an example song?

Advocates site Sweet Child O' Mine most often.

Slash is an awesome guitarist. He's got it all! He's dedicated and I think he's proven that he doesn't give up. All the music he plays is great, you don't get a song to witch Slash plays the guitar that sucks, he just dose what he loves.

Slash has earned his place in the top 5 and one day may even make it to number two. Let's face it Slash is a great guitarist.

I mean you don't just wake up and are good at something you have to earn it and Slash has. For this he is one of My greatest Idols.M+433

Slash is the 2nd greatest guitarist EVER, only behind Hendrix. He is without a doubt the greatest soloist of all time. His solos aren't a couple of licks put together or not just playing a scale as fast as he can, his solo's are thought out masterpieces that are incredibly amazing technically and emotionally. Listen to all his recorded songs and you'll see what I mean.
