The Heat had 1 superstar, 1 star, 1 really good player, and 12 role players.

Yup that team sure was loaded after the big 3.

chalmers is far from lethal

Chalmers game improved greatly last season.

In the playoffs, he was getting the hole pretty much at will.
He actually looked like a PG. In past seasons could we say that?

The man works his ass off every summer.
While he is nowhere close to an elite NBA PG, on this team he doesn't need to be.

What he is, is a perfect fit who understands and accepts his role.

He also is a big shot, big game shooter.

Some team might overpay him next summer.

I think saying 12 role players is being a bit modest.

Ray Allen might be a role player, but he is also close to the best, if not the best shooter in NBA history.

Most teams have a high energy, defense minded role player. How many are better then Birdman?

Miller, Battier, Lewis. Three high IQ, streaky 3 pt shooters. A luxury most teams didn't have.

What really seems to be under valued on this Heat roster is the common mindset of sacrifice, understanding different things are needed on different nights vs different teams.

He is going to get busted for weed. I think it's happened on every team he's been on.

They are still role players. Yes Ray Allen is the best 3 pt shooter in NBA history but he has one role on the team which is to hit 3's pretty much.....Same goes for Birdman. His job to be the energizer bunny basically.

It is very simple in the NBA. You have about 5 categories of players.

1) Superstars

2) Stars

3) All Stars/Really Good players

4) Role players

5) Benchwarmers/very crappy players.

5 years ago Ray Allen would be considered a really good player but at this point in his career he is now a role player.

Beasley is a dumbass. I don't think this move makes a difference because he won't get any playing time anyways. The Heat team is already the best team in the league. Won't be surprised if Beasley gets cut after another run in with the law.

Chalmers always been a good playoffs player. I'm almost certain that at least in the 3 seasons with the big that his numbers increased in the postseason from the regular season. He is a very inconsistent player.

So just did my quick research and I was basically correct. In 4 of his 5 seasons his numbers improved in the playoffs compared to the reg season.

Chalmers always have his moments in the playoffs but he isn't lethal......Really far from it

I'm in my fucking glory.

The boredom of a long, drawn out regular season has just become fun for me again.

I don't see Beasley through the eyes of a typical NBA fan. He's earned the right to always be my favorite player.

Beasley should get playing time. He brings something diff to the table than anyone else on the bench brings. Give him between 15-20 min per game and he'll avg close to 10 PPG. Considering how the Heat like to go small I can see Beasley getting a fair amount of time off the bench between does use LBJ and Battier on the court often so he should be able to find 15 min from Beasley.

And yes I agree that I'm pretty sure he would get cut if he has another run in with the law.

This is a high reward/low risk type of move. If it doesn't work out who cares? If it does it is great because it would mean our bench just got stronger.

I think he'll play well in Miami and he won't get busted for weed. He was smoking weed when he was on shitty teams. He'll do well because he'll be far down the list of options.

I was just pointing out the fact you have a crush on him.

I agree he isnt 'lethal'.
The thing about him, is that when he is on, its usually right from the get go.
If he's off, give the minutes to Cole and by committee.

My point was that he is/has developed into a legit PG.
Remember, in college, he was a 2.

He won't be as far down as you think.
His youth will used to help preserve the bodies of the old.

Look how many different working combinations Spoelstra can put on the court.

As far as my crush, no need for you to point it to.
I'm quite happy to announce it myself.:suds:

lol I dunno about that. wade is closer to a superstar. yeah hes slowed down from injuries..and all that...but its not like when LeBron goes to bench its not as if the opposing team goes on a 10-0 run. maybe their role players are just better than everyone else in league... between mike miller, chalmers, battier, ray allen pretty solid shooters.

take LeBron off the heat and insert any other super star player...Carmelo, kobe, Durant, George etc...im not sure they don't win too

He also got in trouble a lot on 2 younger teams without any Veteran leadership.

Beasley is just semi-retarded. He's a nice guy (I've met him in person at the Sky Harbor Airport in PHX) and he was chill as hell and not cocky at all. But the ways that he's gotten caught smoking have convinced me that he might be really slow in the head. I mean going 100 mph on the freeway smoking a blunt isn't very smart... when you make millions you would think you'd have better places to smoke... you know... maybe in the middle of your fucking mansion or something, idk.

As far as basketball goes... I'm glad he off the Suns. He is selfish as fuck and only cares about himself on the court and forces up horrible shots. No one wants a teammate like that. I think playing with three stars will help though for sure. He has one breakout game every 15-20 games or so and when he goes off he's hard to stop... but that's what's so frustrating. Way too inconsistent and LAZY.
