Too scared to schedule Zona
* Yeah, it kind of sucks that we have to play Duke & an FCS team in the same season.
* There were a few home & home series under Saban a few years back; but when the tv networks offer you big bucks for a neutral-site game, it's kind of hard to say no.Oh Bama would schedule Zona. But the game has to be played in either Florida, Georgia or Texas. You have a better chance of being the next governor of AZ. than Saban ever playing a true home & home series w/ any P5 program.

No Bama under Saban has never played a true home & home w/ any P5 program.
'07- played FSU in Jacksonville
'08- played Clemson in Atlanta
'09- played VT in Atlanta
'10- played @ dook (not exactly a top notch P5 program)
'11- played @ PSU (they were ranked # 23, only true road game against a ranked P5 team in the Saban era)
'12- meeeechegan in Texas
'13- VT in Atlanta
'14- WV in Atlanta
'15- Wisky in Texas
'16 FSU in Atlanta
Until the committee decides to penalize them for schedule it will continue.I still gotta say, playing an FCS team in late November is a pussy move. There’s really no way you can justify that shit.

Fuck scheduling like they do. If USC scheduled Azuza Pacific "to rest and get a win" in late november people would be pissed. No one is saying Alabama isnt a great team. Its just sad that thier fan base doesnt care what community college they play when other conferences are playing rivals. Id rather go to Austin this coming season and watch a loss than see SC schedule trash late in the season and win. How about neither of you schedule trucking schools before big games and schedule like you have good teams.I smell envy.
What does it matter if they play an FCS school in November or in September?
(There is a reasonable answer to that)
If you play dogs at the start of the season, you are padding your schedule. There
is no benefit for that. If you play an FCS team in October and/or November you
can use that as an open date. A chance to rest your walking wounded. A chance to
let your emotion die down for a week. There are way more 14-week seasons than
15-week. With a CCG that leaves you with only one open date. You use the 1-AA
to get a second open date. There is value to that.
We've scheduled, from time to time an FCS team the week bfore the UF game. They
do the same thing. You need your emotion for that game. You rest your emotion
the week before. Now we can't do that this year because we've agreed to open on
Labor Day night vs VPI. So, we need the 1-AA the next Saturday, just 5 days later.
We can't use an open date before UF because the two schools have an agreement that
neither will have an open date the week before we play.
You damn well don't want an open date on week #2.
Instead of whining about Alabama, I've come to a conclusion that we should be worrying
about beating Alabama. Because until we do that...everything else is just envy.
Envy that we can't beat them and envy because we don't know how to schedule as good
as they do.
