Got some series against some very beatable teams in the next couple of weeks. O's need to show their mettle. Pirates, Indians, Reds, Brewers, Astros and Rangers. They need to do more than 'hold their own' if they want to consider themselves serious division contenders.

I'm happy to report that our northern foes in the division also suffered a 3 game home sweep at the hands of the Tigers. C'mon, get haaaappy!

^Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. I'd be surprised to see him back this season at this point.

With one more hit, Nick Markakis will have 1,452 for his career, tied for 10th all-time for the O's. The other notable Oriole with the same clubhouse mark? Brian Roberts.

Ken Singleton has 1,455
Harlond Clift (of the Browns era) has 1,463

Caleb definitely seems like the kind of catcher that you forgive any offensive woes over since he seems to work well with the pitchers. I'm still pretty high on him.

The Rays are showing some offense.. not a ton, but some. Enough to make better-than-expected pitching be all the difference, despite their injuries. I'm almost not surprised that they're winning some games in Baltimore. Sure, they've been shutout a number of times, but a good number of their losses have been closer than one might think. And against a free-swinging club like ours? I'm really not surprised that they've been able to take a game or two.

Double header day. It'd be sweet to take em both but Lester seems to be dialed in.

A's just released Jim Johnson. Looks like the Jemile Weeks trade worked out just fine for us, shedding payroll and gaining a utility player in the process.

I pray that we're planning on signing him to a long term extension if we do indeed get him because this will be awful giving Boston highly rated prospects for a 2-3 month rental.

The Angels are letting off of the gas. If they lose tonight, we will be 2.5 games behind them. This is their lineup for tonight against Seattle:
