At first I thought it was UW really shitting the bed, now I'm suddenly wondering if I didn't give ASU the credit they deserve.

With the recent explosion of Khalil Tate and ASU playing great since coming off their bye, the Zona schools are suddenly looking much different than they did 3 weeks ago.

It was both. It was always both. Had UW played their game they still win what would have been an ugly one. It was ASU playing a seriously strong game on defense and just not doing anything stupid on offense, along with a dismal kicking game, no commitment to the run, browning overthrowing, and the o line making too many mistakes.

They obviously used their bye to the complete max and have really fixed some things on defense. They still look a bit weak on offense, but as long as they keep protecting the ball and not making stupid turnovers, they are a formidable team right now for sure.

I really prefer an ASU that will occasionally run with QB under center. There's so much more momentum in that setup for the runner. I know this is a passing game now, but I would still probably run a single back with occasional I form looks if I suddenly was a coach.

you can't spear at a QB in a slide. He lowered his head into that. That's a young backup LB using bad technique and overplaying the situation and will pay the price for it.

As for the targeting, I agree with the call. I just dislike the auto-DQ. I think a DQ should be the refs decision on whether or not it was malicious.

That's an unbelievable pick by Sam. I've always liked him but man. Coming off injury, he's gone from looking like a decent college guy who earned early PT to a legit NFL guy.

What's weird is it doesn't look fluky if that makes sense. I mean if we play UW 10 times, I don't think we do better than 3 or 4 wins, but the game against you was legit and this seems like a bit of a beat down no a fairly helpless offense- And it came from nowhere. There wasn't a whole lot to indicate this might happen besides I knew we had maybe 4 good players on an otherwise poor defense. It was always obvious Wicker, Sam and Calhoun could play, but the rest of it? Out of nowhere.

And yet up 3 scores with the ball in the 4th quarter, I still am expecting disaster.
