Concussion symptoms late Saturday night. Wont play this week, probably done for good.

Bring on the freshman, Jerrod Heard. Swoopes will start this week I'm sure.

Just shoot me.

on a bright side, our defense looked like old-school defense. On the downside, we lost the only OL player with starting experience to an ankle.

we'll see if one of these young quarterbacks can move the chains, that's all.

I can't give you guys a hard time about that. We are one hit away from the same thing happening with knight if mayfield doesn't win his appeal.

I think changing from Brown to Strong is a transition that will take a little bit of time. Brown had his way and it was UT football for years. Now an overhaul and it may show this season.

I don't see a bowl game for UT this year. But I do see a brighter future than the end of the Brown regime.

Texas will be all right. Y'all got the talent to adjust and maybe the coaching now to make sure it happens. Lots of teams are in shit shape at the QB position it seems.

I really think is going to take Strong a couple years to start getting the results Texas fans want, assuming he gets them at all

yes, it aint going to be easy. But that's okay. All I'm looking for is full speed, hell-bent play, especially on defense, and I saw that Saturday. If we can keep the score down, Swoopes is a big QB and maybe we can run QB draws, run out of tackles kind of thing.

It'll be a year to celebrate watching the defense, and that's okay.

Well that didn't take long. I'm sure D is upset but not a big loss imo.

put the young ones in and let em play. Either one of them will have it, or they wont. Might as well find out now.

Man - that sucks for David Ash. I too think the Texas program will survive this though. It will give them a chance to get their young QBs ready for the future toward which they are building. But man - sucks for Ash.

Sad for Ash that his career is over. Time to move forward and got to have Swoopes step up, although I think Jerrod Heard should immediately be thrown to the wolves. He's a thousand times better than Swoopes. The one positive out of this is we have 2 damn good RB's for either QB to hand off to. In the words of Alvin Mack from the movie, The Program, "Defense gonna have to pitch shutouts!!!"

Good luck to Ash. You know he has a damn good, high paying job waiting for him after he graduates.

You guys were razor thin at way too many positions. It wasn't a matter of if, but when IMO.

Especially for Ash. I think most Texas fans would tell you we all thought he was one hit away from his career being over, but in the back of your mind, you're still hoping he would be able to play the whole season. Seems like a great kid, too. Coaches and players think highly of Ash.

Kid's never been in trouble, never run his mouth, and always played hard. Just had awful luck with injuries. You don't want to see that happen to anybody. Truth is, I wanted Texas as healthy as possible when we play them.

hell, sky is not falling. Next men up, no bitchassness. Plus, we don't have to throw derp out there. That's some good news for us fans.

Coach Strong in his press conference said Swoopes needs to understand we don't need him to be great, hand that ball off to your RB's and JUST MANAGE THE GAME.......Basically, be AJ McCarron.

More I think about it, more I think it'll be alright. We were not going to win it all this year anyway, just make teams pay for every foot with the defense.

And every time Ash got hit Saturday, I cringed. Wont have to worry 'bout that anymore. Hookem and get ready for the Mormons coming to town. After watching BYU and UCLA this week, BYU looked much tougher. Let them try to bring down Swoopes for 60 minutes, make em work for it. Hell with this sheet.
