I'm wondering the same thing. I've been googling that shit off and on since last night with no results. If that chick had shown some tit, it would be on the interwebs somewhere.

... and don't really count.

BBVA Compass Bowl
Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl
Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Las Vegas Bowl
Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas
Sheraton Hawaiʻi Bowl

Actually, none of the bowls count, except one. All they represent are exhibition games. ESPN actually controls almost all of them, not just these, if you want to get picky. But they are a chance for players to get extra practice and playing time and for fans to go somewhere kind of nice.

For my team, 3 years of a week in Vegas followed now by one in Hawaii. Not too shabby for minor bowls. It could be a LOT worse.

I've seen this argument before, but I have to believe if the overall outcome was a net loss, schools would turn down bowl invites.

I doubt it. The extra practices and advertising for the school probably make up for the losses, but it's not the cash cow it used to be. That's why it is critical for conferences like the B1G to get 2 teams into the BCS, because that is where the real money is. Sharing with everyone else in the conference helps minimize the losses from going to the Buffalo Wild Wings bowl for one of the scrubs of the conference (cough ,cough you know who you are - don't worry, little bro and daddy will help pay your bills this year).

And replace those lesser bowls with some post season games.

Which would you rather see? A bunch of 6-6 teams play each other in the Maccaroni and Cheese Mediocre Bowl?

Or FSU, Ohio State, Bama, Oregon, Auburn, Baylor, Stanford, UCF single elimination playoff?

Less football...

but more quality football.

Why can't we get both the 6-6 teams in the mediocrity bowl and single elimination playoff games?

Well, instead of eliminating the 6-6 teams, here is what needs to happen. Outlaw schedule padding or at least limit it to one game a year. So many major conference schools basically go out and hire bad teams to come in and lose to them, making at least half of those 6 wins suspect. Then 6-6 might mean something. Also, we need to decide whether division one means division one. If we are going to have 10 conferences plus several independents, the mechanism needs to exist so that any team from any conference at least has a shot, if they can win them all.

Otherwise, let's keep the current system in which at least 35 teams get to end the year with a win.

Oh, totally agree. They beat three lower-level mid-majors, some FCS school and then go 2-6 in their AQ conference and then get an auto-bid because of bowl-conference alignment.

They didn't earn a post-season spot.

Once upon a time, these bowl games were earned. I remember an 8-4 OU team staying home for the holidays.

8-4!

That would never happen today.

The B1G is banning FCS opponents but I don't think this takes effect until 2015 or 2016. By that time it will also be on a 9-game conference schedule, and the top teams are improving OOC scheduling (Wisconsin has LSU, Alabama, LSU the next three years), so strength of schedule should improve dramatically.
