Really? The one time FSU went to the CFP you guys got your ass handed to you. Then it was last year or the year before I watched the Cards hang 60 on the Noles.

Really...I didn't know that!

I do know that Washington is 17-19-1 all-time in Bowl .473
We're 29-16-2 all-time .638

Not enough thugs

Ah yes, those Michigan helmets from the days when the Wolverines were nationally relevant:

What's his thoughts on harbaugh?

Probably that Jimmy is too old to be eating boogers:

But he's never seen UM good

Neither have these folks:

It's like driving on a long trip.

You have certain check points along the way that will keep you from turning around
and returning home.

If you are preparing to leave on an 800-mile trip (roughly 11 and 1/2 hours, you
won't even start the car if you can't think of something else.

You have spots along the way 40 or 50 miles apart that you measure your trip by.
The first and last parts of the trip are okay. It's the middle part where it can be
a bitch.

So for the journey from one football season to another. You have to complete basketball
season. With that out of the way...Spring practice is underway and that gives you hope
for the coming year. (Even Florida can complete passes in April. Well, 30% of them anyway)

With the end of Spring practice, college baseball is at the midway point. (MLB is roughly
two years long, so that's not a good checkpoint) The CWS occurs in June and school ends
for the academic year, so you know when it reopens we'll be playing.

Now with the end of College Baseball The Canadian Football League is in their exhibition season
and Arena Football is underway. So there is some relief. The NFL goes to camp in July
so we know we're getting close. Fall Practice begins the first of August. That is a time of
rejoicing. The teams are back at it. Predictions are soaring. All the players suspended for
the summer in the SEC will be rejoining their teams...Kickoff is 4 weeks away.

The debates will kick into high gear. Who will be preseason #1? Who will be the dark horse
teams? Who will be the coaches on the hot seat. Which school will hire away Oregon's
Head Coach? HBO will present a four-part documentary...
"GREATNESS...The Champions of the West-The Brady Hoke Story!"

Polls will mark every other thread...Vegas will give the Over/Under on how many Chris Peterson
photos AlaskaGuy will post in any given week. Captain Hook will raise his hand and have his
fingers display how many games UTEP will win. Tennessee and Notre Dame will continue to pay
for coaches at 24 other universities. Iowa and Texas Tech will extend the contracts of Ferentz
and Kingsbury in mid-August, a reward for a summer...well-done.

Damn...I can't wait.

OK...

Let's see where we're at along the way.

Basketball is over.

Spring Practice is over.

We are in the final weeks of Baseball.

Looks like we're halfway home.

CWS is right around the corner.

Then the CFL will start. (Arena League is down to 4 teams so that ain't much)

NFL at the end of July

August 1st and fall camp ain't that far away (89 days by my count). 115 days
to the first kickoff.

The debates continue hot and heavy and Chris Peterson pictures are everywhere.
(Except with a Purple Prom Dress)

I like the layoff. It gives me the opportunity to pursue other things on the weekends.

But it's like 35 weekends.

Don't forget the Arena League's competition, The Indoor Football League.

Indoor Football League

The Indoor Football League seems to have a better formula than the Arena Football League. The IFL franchises are primarily located in small markets where there isn't much, if any professional sports competition....the six current IFL teams are pretty much the only game in town, with perhaps the only competition coming from minor league baseball and minor league hockey clubs.

Very true.

There is also another league, or there was...The National Indoor
League.

I've always kept up with Canada more than the Indoor Leagues
and I just wasn't aware of how far the Arena League had fallen.

19 teams down to 4. The next stop is the Door.

But what you write is correct. They cannot compete against
Major League Sports. Folks won't spend money (a majority of folks) on a lower product when the best is available to them.

If you can find a 100,000 population community with a 10K
seat arena, you'd be in far better shape, with a proper pay scale,
that going into a Million+ plus population area with a Major League
Sport.
