Honestly, I was happy to see they didn't get frustrated, and started doing stupid stuff. Sharks are physical, but man they go right to that line where it could be a penalty on some of those hits.

Yeah they play on a fine line. As for the pens I thought in the 2nd Neal was going to take a stupid call but he reeled it in.

Have to hand it to the sharks they didn't give in and played a good second half of the game.

Twitter is a hot mess. Sid was statisically a -5 (he had an awful game), and everyone is running with that stat like it's arma-freaking-gaddeon. One was the Zatkoff whiff, and another the ENG. Once again, he had a horrible night, but good lord. Some people just like to troll, don't get it.

Sharks do toe the line with the physicality, there were probably 3 or so moments a call easily could've been made. Maatta got slew-footed by Raffi at the end, and the Kunitz hit were the only two I didn't "like".

Yeah it is easy with a -5 to troll like that. But it is a team stat just like Niskanen leading the league. I would still not put him at the top of d-men in the league.

Regardless of +/-...I'm not sure I WOULDN'T put Nisky with some of the top Dmen in the league. Best Dman on the team all year, not many teams have TWO better than him, and some certainly don't have one better. I'd put him in the top 25 or so.

Wouldn't put him in the top d-man either, but he's had a top-10, at worst, season.

Penguins gave up five goals in the last 22:17 of the game and only got four shots on goal in the third period - they're completely lucky to have even been in the game as long as they were

What's sadly lost in all this: OLLI MAATTA IS INCREDIBLE. He was about an inch away from a hattrick. Ridiculous.

Oh yeah that game wasn't as close as the score shows.

Raffi Torres, if you hurt Maatta, I kill you.

That was a sneaky slew-foot you bastage.

Ummm...where has a sneaky slewfoot by a notoriously dirty player ever done any harm? I mean c'mon.

As for Niskanen he is having a great season, I was thinking long term doubt anyone would want him as a number 1 or 2.

Maatta on the other hand is special and probably will be a true 1 or 2 long term.

Also, fuck Dan for scratching Engo who has size, physicality, and cools things down out there, and Vitale who is he fastest player on the team. Idiot lineup decisions.

Vitale has had a mediocre year at best. The Engo thing I can understand, but losing our most physical/big player in the first period (Bortuzzo) doesn't help either.

Can't agree Pix, he is what he is a bottom 6 forward and a solid one at that, but there is nothing Adams can do that Vitale can't do better. And Pyatt? What is Dan thinking?

The bottom 6 wasn't my complaint last night. They were very solid. The top line was the one that struggled on both ends.

Don't disagree, top six need to be better. Can't agree about the bottom six when 33% are just warm bodies.

Sometimes you have to just tip your hat to the other team. The Sharks were flying last night.
