I am not a Pujols-hater like some here, but I seriously question if he will even get to 600, let alone 700.

He is 35 and sitting on 543. He is having a big year, so lets assume he finishes with 40 (17 more, a HUGE assumption) which will leave him at 560 going into his age 36 season.

Typically, players not named Bonds hit a pretty serious wall at about age 35/36/37. Does he have an addition 40 HRs in him past this year? Maybe, but it is FAR from a "lock".
40 home runs after the age of 36 has been done 109 times. He doesn't have to be Barry Bonds to get to 600. Hell, Marquis Grissom hit over 40 home runs after he turned 36.

He wouldn't have to just hit a wall to not reach 600, he would have to essentially stop playing. Barring injury, he'll get there in 2017.

Cmon lol 40 more homers? He'd have to legit have a career ending injury.

600 is an absolute lock.

700 is a lock assuming he plays(which isn't a lock),

It all depends on when he gets caught.

Simple as that.

0-5, 4 LOB

Not at all "comical" if you're paying this douchebag $30M.

Lol well he's not going to hit a homer every game lmao.

If that's the best you got he truly is killin it.

Most homers and RBI since May 26th!!

Best homer and RBI stretch of his career!!!

I'd be impressed if Albert gets to 630.

He's been on a year since he got a taste of Tigers pitching a few weeks back. But he's old as hell. I don't care what he's listed as. He's older than that.

If he decides like ARod to stick around through the whole contract, he would have 7.5 years remaining to get 57 homers. That's 7.5 homers a year to get to 600. That shouldn't be but so hard. Now to get to 700 he would have to average 21 homers, which baring some miracle drug is not happening.

He would have to hit the biggest wall in history not to hit 40 more over the next six and a half seasons.

At that point you're basically just speculating that he'll run into a career ending injury in the very near future and I see no reason to believe that. 700 is a possibility, although it would be difficult, but I would say 600 is pretty close to a certainty.

Averaging 21 home runs a season over the length of his contract would be extremely difficult to do but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's not happening, especially if he has another season or two like this.

I think without any serious injuries(once that make him sit out half a season or more) a 21 a year average isn't really that much for a guy like that. And again that average is dependent on him ending this year at 550(should go over that by a few at least)

If he's able to hit around 30 for the next couple of years at 36 and 37. That gives him a few years of only needing 10 homers to hit the average.

I would put money down that he hits 700 if I was guaranteed he wouldn't have any serious injuries. Which really can't be guaranteed lol.

Another game lost solely by Pujols. One single and they win. How much are they paying this bum again? :L

If/when that occurs then perhaps by that time your team will actually have a winning record.

And what exactly would give you that impression?

Trolling the Padres doesn't make you look any better, my man. The Angels are a fucking train wreck. Their demise is going to be swift and brutal. I'm going to enjoy it immensely! It's time to pay the piper!

It's a shame he isn't the multidimensional hitter he used to be.. Was a lock for 1.000+ OPS every year..
