The guy is on a rampage right now.

Go ahead grand slam just now in a big comeback.

How many homers do you guys think he finishes with? If he plays out his contract 700 is a lock. He's also gonna have 3,000 hits here in about 2 years only.

We will see if he keeps up the torrid pace through the season

.322/.381/.730, 14 home runs in his last 30 games

.250 BABIP over that stretch, but that's because a home run doesn't count as a ball in play.

700 is a lock IF and its still a big IF he plays out his contract.

If we just assume he hits only 10 more this year and ends at 550.

Til he's 42 he'd only need 21 homers a year.

Reactionary bullshit. 90% of the time the dude is a liability and then his cousin mixes a good batch of juice and you guys pretend like he's great. :L

LOL. I don't think he is ever going to justify that contract

It's only going to get worse (unless the juice from his cousin gets better).

Pujols was directly responsible for the loss tonight between the error, going 0-3 and 3 LOB. One base hit and they win.

No team in baseball is more deserving of this asshole than the Angels.

If he plays out his contract 700 is a lock.

It's a possibility but no where near a lock.

He would have to average about 25 home runs over the next six and a half seasons to hit 700. That's a real lot of home runs to have to hit, especially so late in a player's career.

The odds have to be higher he falls short due to injury or just diminished ability.

Whatever. This coming from the guy who said this @ Bryce Harper in early May

For a whole 2-game stretch? Over-hyped and over-rated. I'd take Trout or Kris Bryant all damn day. More production, less arrogant bullshit. And hairflips. :rolleyes2:

Good analysis - I guess that Harper hit most of his 24 HRs in a few games - ditto for his RBIs & other hits. Hate driven analysis is always the best - keep em coming...

I am not a Pujols-hater like some here, but I seriously question if he will even get to 600, let alone 700.

He is 35 and sitting on 543. He is having a big year, so lets assume he finishes with 40 (17 more, a HUGE assumption) which will leave him at 560 going into his age 36 season.

Typically, players not named Bonds hit a pretty serious wall at about age 35/36/37. Does he have an addition 40 HRs in him past this year? Maybe, but it is FAR from a "lock".
