I still feel like Seattle has a run in them somewhere.

Their best pitcher just went down for at least 3 weeks with an injury. They're done IMO. I think Baltimore and/or Toronto will have a run in them

Yeah as I just said, there's really no reason why any of those teams in the WC race should pass the yanks but that 1 game WC playofs is not ideal at all. Hate it with a passion. As I've been saying for years now, that should be a best of 3 series IMO.

I do think it provides extra incentive for teams to win their divisions and not have their seasons decided by a coin toss of a game. I don't disagree with you though.

Dude, the Sox could go on 2 more 8 game losing streak before this season is over.

And the yanks would probably go 2-6 or 3-5 in that same stretch. I just don't see it happening. Yanks better win 3 of 4 vs the Mets this week because their schedule from Friday thru the first weekend of September isn't pretty

Sox rotation stepped up big time this weekend. This series still confirmed my worries about their non-Kimbrel relievers, especially Reed.

Yeah it does for sure. Teams didn't care about the division if they do they were safe as a WC team because they know they were locked in for a best of 5 ALDS. Teams in baseball don't care about HFA that much to fight too hard for the division in the old days if they knew they had a WC spot locked up.

Yesterday game pissed me off the most even though I hate Chapman. We had our ACE going against a solid starter but nothing special and he got his ass lit up. I never expect to win Sale starts lol

Honestly, I think Ockimey's far more intriguing than Travis. Maybe I'm just convinced Travis is anything more than a Kotchman/Loney type, but I think Ockimey has a much higher ceiling offensively. Only thing I'm a bit worried about is he'll make enough contact, but there's some serious power potential and he walks a lot. Though if Travis does turn into a useful part, Ockimey could still be a good DH.

Groome's ERA isn't pretty, but it is inflated by a few pretty bad starts. Of his 28 earned runs allowed this year, 19 of them came in three starts (including 9 in 1.1 innings). He does have 62/22 K/BB in 48.1 innings. There's some command issues, but the stuff is there. I'm not worried about him, though I would rank Chavis ahead of him right now.

Mata's pretty exciting. He has a 3.71 ERA in low A with solid K/BB rates (8.6 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9) and he's only 18 years old. Glad the Sox didn't deal him at the deadline.

Doesn't feel like Sanchez is having a good season but he hit his 20th HR of the year and batting .273 this season

And remember he missed the first month of the season
