By all means, toot your special snowflake 7-3 horn. I was unaware that the aspirations of the Trojans faithful were so low that beating Washington was now the pinnacle.

You people from Alabama don't understand.

Us peons need to celebrate any positive.

Now, once Nick Saban leaves and the other Alabama Assistant Coaches grow old and feeble, the Crimson Tide will lose their luster.

The irony of all ironies: Saban leaves and hands the keys to Kiffin. Kiffin drives the proud Tide into the ground and gets fired midway through the season at a Tuscaloosa bus depot. Deja vu all over again.

Bill Plaschke is firmly in the Helton camp. He wrote a nice piece this morning in the LA Times, after years of trashing SC.

USC still hired the wrong guy, sorry to tell you. USC shouldn't be satisfied with 9 win seasons.

We still don't know yet if that's true, USC started the season with virtually ever position coach being new, these kids all had to learn new schemes. I think the jury is still out

. Great logic cupcake. Nick Saban first year at Michigan State 6-5, first year at Alabama 7-6. Its about seeing improvement . Frome Bama game to this past game theres been epic growth. Thats all you can ask for.

Seriously. His highly ranked team just scored a measly 13 points on an unranked 5-4 team and lost. How satisfied is he feeling right now? lol

Except neither program has a roster of four and five star talent when they took over.

Can't speak to Michigan St. at the time, but you really are a casual fan if you think Alabama didn't have talent.

Maybe you don't remember what Alabama was like in the years before Saban?

We didn't have talent when Saban came. I did this on another forum when comparing Kirby Smart @ Georgia this year, I'll see if I can hunt it up.

We were basically all 3 stars and the 4 years prior to Saban netted less than a handful of 4 and 5 stars. Saban's first class immediately doubled the higher rated recruits.

But at any rate, Saban made a huge impact on talent.
