Tampa, NYY, Baltimore and Toronto continued their winning ways last night, while Bawstuhn continued to suck balls.

Yea Baltimore surely made the Phillies look like the douchebags that they are jeffro.

Everybody gains a game on the Orioles.

Buchholz pitched like a MLB pitcher tonight.

Big series this weekend between the Orioles and the Jays. Should be fun to watch.

Red Sox finally showing signs of life on offense, batting .289/.337/.437 with a 118 sOPS+ (split OPS+ relative to the rest of the league in June) and 77 runs in 18 games (4.28 R/G). The Red Sox batted .237/.301/.361 with an 87 sOPS+ and 82 runs (2.82 R/G) in 29 games.

The team BABIP is .331 in June, which is pretty high (3rd in majors). But it was also .272 in April (25th) and .266 in May (29th).

Would be a blow to the offense if Pedroia (knee) hits the DL though.

Everybody gains a game on the Orioles.

Buchholz pitched like a MLB pitcher tonight.

he's had some ugly games, some of which could be attributed to bad luck/bad defense. His peripherals are currently some of the best of his career.

8.79 K/9 (currently career high by a good margin), 2.3 BB/9 (career low), 0.52 HR/9, 3.24 xFIP (best, he's only had one season with 100+ IP with an xFIP below 4.00), 49.8% ground ball rate

His HR/FB rate is a bit lower than his career average, but his BABIP is also at .335.

hopefully he can continue to pitch well and establish some trade value.

13 total runs scored in the 2nd inning today in Toronto.

Both starters out after 1.1 IP

Here is an interesting fact: In 2012 the year Bobby V managed the Red Sox after 70 games they were 36-34. They finished the season 69-93 that's 24 games under .500

Jump ahead to 2015 and the Red Sox after 70 games they are 30-40 six games worse than they were at the same point in 2012. It's scary to think how bad this Sox team is and how bad they could finish the season. Is a 100 loss season possible? Only time will tell but it definitely seems like it could be a possibility.

It's nice that you ate so concerned with the Sox. What say you on the Phillies possible record.

The Phillies do not have an absurd payroll, nor did they make a bunch of moves during the offseason.

Nor are the Red Sox operated by the worst GM in baseball.

Also, the Phillies were among the leaders in payroll prior to 2015, cupcake.

I'd deflect from my shitty team too if I was a Phillies fan. Outside of Franco and Hamels (who will most likely be gone soon), there's no bright spots whatsoever on that team. At least the Red Sox have several young, exciting players to potentially build around.

What does last season have to do with this season? Philly unloaded $45 million in the offseason because they knew they were not going to compete. Boston, on the other hand, added $25 million to their payroll, because they had a pipedream that they were going to compete.

And for as bad as Boston's been, they're just 6.5 games out of the Wild Card...and that's with Ortiz and Napoli playing having their worst seasons in a long time and Victorino missing 2/3 the season.

I mean, they could very well add a pitcher (ie: Kazmir, Zimmerman, Cueto - all reported to be available) and if either Ortiz, Napoli or Victorino have a good second half, why can't they be in the race?

And for Philly, even after unloading, their payroll is $142M which is in the top 10...let's not make them out to be the A's or something.
