At the very least, and assuming Fistuh can keep it going, the Red Sox have a formidable top three starting pitchers for the playoffs. Seems like that will be even more important than usual this year.

No worse than OBP, OPS.

Maybe you're right in this age of "must use 4 relievers"

Yeah, but I was thinking more along the lines of: walking a slap-hitting base stealer (Jeter) has opposite implications in a close game versus walking a power hitter (Arod). Not all walks are created equal.

Im sure Ill come under attack for this, but I dont think its out of bounds to suggest that the Yankees are better built for a short series, based on the pen (which I think is overrated), and Tanaka/Seve/Gray/CC is better than the Sox staff, especially if the Sale decline (by his own standards only) is for real

That seems reasonable. Honestly, I think a case could be made that the Yankees are the better team period.

When I look at run differential, the unbelievable amount of heartbreaking losses (2 of them to the Sox themselves) they have suffered, their horrendous record in one run games, I think thats also very true...It is what it is, and a loss is a loss, but man they have suffered some of the most horrendous losses this season

On a scale of 1-10, how scare are the dodgers of facing the dbacks in the NLDS? They're 0-7 vs Zona in the last week

Flying under the radar is how awful Darvish has been (Something the Cotton guy pointed out a couple months back)

If he isnt great for them, Im not in love with that lineup, I dont love their chances in October

Ill go with 18, because a 4.50 ERA is a "Quality start"

Most misleading shit in baseball, "Quality Start"

in 2017 MLB averages 4.66 runs per game, and the average ERA is 4.36

i can see why 4.50 would be considered a QS. it is an arbitrary stat line tho.

Too bad they don't play them again in the regular season. Haha, only 10.5 back and closing :)
