Freaking Astros keep winning too though.

This is why I laugh when here in NY the Girardi apologists always say "Who are you gonna replace him with"

So dumb

As if everyone knew Dave Roberts, Torey Lovullo, the Astros guy, etc. would all be good managers

And it doesn't appear that watchgate is going to cost Farrell his job. Sox can't catch a break.

That they do, but still, in the second half the Indians' starters ERA ranks 1st in MLB, the bullpen 2nd, and the offense 4th in RS.

Baseball Prospectus gives the Indians the best odds in MLB to win the WS
FiveThirtyEight has them second (by one percentage point) behind the Dodgers
FanGraphs has them at second behind the Astros

I'm loving our chances right now.

Of course, all that means is that I'm going to be extra heart-broken when the Indians get swept in the ALDS.

I found this interesting,

Baseball Prospectus gives the Red Sox better odds to make the playoffs than the Yankees (99.6% to 94.7%), but give the Yankees better odds to win the WS (7.9% to 4.7%).

Obviously, it's because they give the Sox an 81.3% chance to win the division and the Yankees are battling for a Wild Card, but still, pretty interesting.

What a difference a year makes. Last year Rick Porcello closed the regular season with 12 consecutive quality starts (before the Injuns hung him out to dry in the playoffs) and finished with 26 in 33 tries.
More sports trivia.
Multiple choice:
How many of Rick Fraudcello's 29 starts this year have been quality starts?

Im sure Ill come under attack for this, but I dont think its out of bounds to suggest that the Yankees are better built for a short series, based on the pen (which I think is overrated), and Tanaka/Seve/Gray/CC is better than the Sox staff, especially if the Sale decline (by his own standards only) is for real

Ill go with 18, because a 4.50 ERA is a "Quality start"

Most misleading shit in baseball, "Quality Start"

Fister #2 Red Sox starter?

At the very least, and assuming Fistuh can keep it going, the Red Sox have a formidable top three starting pitchers for the playoffs. Seems like that will be even more important than usual this year.

No worse than OBP, OPS.
