I don't know about that, but I started keeping track of the starters' stats around 8/3 because of the ridiculous run they were on, but since, the entire team has been doing so much, the starters' dominance is just a piece of the pie.

Still, in 42 games since 8/3, Indians starters have combined for:

6.36 IP/GS ~ 10.0 K/9 ~ 5.21 K/BB ~ 1.021 WHIP ~ 2.22 ERA

In todays MLB, true ACE, power arms all over the pen, a mix of young athletic, and veteran power

The Encarcion signing was brilliant, perfect for them, as was the Bruce trade

I'm torn on this streak.

On one hand, I think the guys are getting a good dose of playoff pressure/atmosphere, which might calm them down a little come October. On the other hand, last night was the first night I saw overwhelmingly emotional play from them in pursuit of this streak - I don't want them to be emotionally/mentally spent heading into the playoffs.

Fuck. I'm so nervous.

Also, fuck you @Bloody Brian Burke.

I would be perfectly fine with them being emotionally and physically spent heading into the play-offs (especially if they play the Red Sox)... If not then I don't want them to be until they play the sawx

You know what frustrates the fuck out of me...Watching the Yankees play great baseball, but this late in the season, if the Sox also win, feels like the win is meaningless

Yeah, fuck the Red Sox.

I know what you mean. I felt the same way earlier in the Indians' streak when Houston was on a 6-game streak of their own. The flip side though, is that if the Yankees hadn't won...

Boston up in Tampa this weekend, and one thing I notice about Tampa when the Yanks played them, Cash is still managing that team like the 7th game of the WS, and that team plays hard, I appreciate that with any team not really in a race right now

Not sure why NASA had it plummet into Saturn... Why not try to bring it back?

they cant. they arent designed to. they are designed to be used until they basically fail (due to age, for example) or sent on death missions. theyre basically probes for one off use.

trading for joe smith to be an alternative/additional righty setup guy with Shaw was also a really good move.

He's always been an underrated, very useful relief pitcher

Since he came back on August 1st, he's hitting .313/.356/.607/.962 with 10 HRs and 9 SBs in 42 games without being caught stealing. Translates to a 40/35 season.

Still a small sample size but Twins fans should be excited
